This movie (scarface) uses the word "****" 206 times, a record at the time. It has since been surpassed by Goodfellas (1990), which uses it 246 times, and Pulp Fiction (1994), which uses it 257 times.
And that settles that.

The Official Rank for F-Words is

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Goodfellas
3. Scarface

Those darn criminals sure do a lot of gosh darn swearing.

Yeah, remember to make the distinction between swear words like the topic states, and not just f-words. On the Pulp Fiction DVD, if you turn on the trivia subtitles, i remember it mentions the record but i don't recall exactly what it said. If anyone watches that again, turn on the trivia and tell us I do remember mention of South Park though.

Movies with the most swearing...

It wasn't too long ago that I thought Pulp Fiction reigned supreme when it came to profain utterances. Now I believe I have found a new king... and that is Glengarry GlenRoss. WOW! I have not heard so much swearing in such a small timeframe. Case in point, Ed Harris telling off Al Pacino near the end.

What other movies do you think are worse than GGR or PF?

I know this one is not really a movie, but how about that South Park episode It Hits the Fan?
Had the word sh*t used over 160 times. Pretty funny episode.

This should be in the Movies section.

But I have to answer The Big Lebowski.

According to IMDB:

"The 'F' word and its variations were spoken 267 times in this movie."

That doesn't include any other swear words.

I have to throw this one in...

Twin Town (1997)
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120394

Set in South Wales (where I'm from!) this poor man's Trainspotting makes up for its lack of real humour with the most relentless barrage of 4-letter words in recent memory. I was actually fatigued by all the swearing, and I don't have sensitive ears!

While I've never counted the swear words in any movie or ever researched it..... I have to believe that "Scarface" is at or near the top of this list.

There are times during the movie when every other word is literally "f**k".

"F**k Casper Gomez and f**k the f**king Diaz brothers. F**k 'em all!! I bury those cock-a-roaches." Just one example off the top of my head.

I read somewhere that Scarface and GOodfellas were the kings of bad language in movies, I think it was in Maxim somewhere.

I remember when it came out I was stunned at all the swearing in Midnight Run. I wonder if it even compares these days.

Yes it does belong in the Movies section. And in fact it already does (or was)...

Marv: He's only a kid, Harry.

Harry: Yeah, well f**k that. I'm gonna f**k his s**t up, that little mother f***er. When I get troo with that g**damn pr*ck bastard he's gonna wish he didn't f*** 'round with the mother f***in' wet bandits!

I once counted the *****s in Midnight Run; 120, that's 1 per minute.

"Analyze This" had a lot of cursing in it.

I find that movies with tons of cursing distract from the movie itself. I find movies like "Analyze This" to be funny on TV broadcast than in the theater.

South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut holds the record for the most times f**k appears in a movie (it was a fact in Maxim or FHM or one of those magazines) so it probably has the most total swearing too.

Any Kevin Smith movie has got to rank up there. Jay and Bob can't go 2 words without one of them being a curse.

Hard to develop a plot with that being the extent of your vocabulary... Seemed this would have to challenge for the record unless they suddenly stopped using it for the last half of the movie.

Oh wait, there was the scene where they showed their proficiency with the words Yes and No.
I agree. Was there a plot to this movie? I usually like Ben Kingsley as an actor and rented this because he had recieved an Oscar nom for this movie. My husband & I were both disapointed in this movie.

I especially liked the Yes! No! scene as well.
