Most recently, the live-action Peter Pan. I thought it was going to be a huge hit, along the lines on $150+ million.

I don't know about being wrong but my best guess ever was Braveheart. I was watching E.T.(entertainment tonight) at a friends house and they showed a behind the scenes look, on location (ireland? a year before release), of one of the battles. My jaw dropped and I turned to my buddy and I said, THAT is going to win a best picture oscar.

I guess I wasn't alone in my prediction that Titanic would bomb.

I would have bet a fortune that Tom Cruises's THE MINORITY REPORT was going to bomb.
I based this on the trailer I saw.
Of course it was a hit.

I made that mistake too. Oh, if only...

My favorite though was all throughout 2001 hearing people predict that the Lord Of The Rings films would end Peter Jackson's career, bankrupt New Line and close the studio, and prevent any fantasy films from ever being made again.

Thinking that Titanic was going to bomb was pretty much the majority opinion at the time. People thought Cameron had pretty much gone over the edge and that it was his Heaven's Gate.

More recently, a lot of people were predicting that Pirates of the Carribean would bomb. Of course, it went on to be one of the top-grossing films of 2003.

And we don't even need to mention The Passion of the Christ...we all know how that went down.

I thought Volcano (that terrible Tommy Lee Jones movie) would be a ginormous (like Twister sized) hit, boy was I wrong on that one.

I also thought Final Fantasy would beat Shrek for the highest grossing CG film of the year.

I had higher hopes for 'You got served', best film of the year but didn't beat Titanic
