This thread is going about the same place that the "What types of music do you listen to?" boils up everywhere

"Everything but Country . . ."

What types of movies do you watch?

"Everything but Westerns . . ."

Well, I'm open minded enough to like everything (with exceptions across the board no matter what the genre/style). . .

Some actors just annoy me, some actors I like enough to buy their movies even though the movie isn't so great . . .

I'm not prejudiced, I don't discriminate, I like what I like . . . it's so subjective and personal, it can't be replicated or duplicated . . . even though I happened to marry a girl who's as close to my tastes as is humanly possible.

I am just curious, why do you dislike anime, it really isn't just one genre, but covers any genre that Hollywood has dealt with, in many quite different styles of animation. There are well-written and animated titles that would be the equivalent of Gattaca or Dark City.

I like many people on this board is open to pretty much anything commited to film. From silent movies, documentaries, to foreign, to Hollywood movies.

What I don't like are really bad romantic comedies, predictable slasher films, overpretentious Euro or independent films, and action movies with dumb action.

Lets see, I’ve got everything from 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 Weeks
...from M to O
...Them! to The Others
...The Fantasia Anthology to The First Nudie Musical
...Psycho to All About My Mother
...Crazy/Beautiful to The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
...To Die For to Waking Life
...Cries and Whispers to Scream 3
...A Room With a View to Out of Sight
...Unbreakable to Frailty
...Safe to Panic Room
...Monsters Inc. to Monster’s Ball
...Vanya on 42nd St. to The Last House on the Left
...Blade Runner to The Cutting Edge
...The Passion of Joan of Arc to Dude, Where’s My Car?

I'd say my tastes are pretty varied.
