Any DBack fan really think it's a good idea to play New York New York on the PA system...
That's sort of like the NY official victory song. Why would you want to rile them up

It slaps the most arrogant team in existence right in their faces ...

I thought it was top-notch!

IF t his was Game 7, I'd agree with you. It'd be a totally "IN YOUR FACE"move, and I'd applaud the DBacks for that..

But they just humiliated the AL's best team, and now they are playing that team's victory anthem afterwards? Bad move IMHO

I see your point. But motivation is only one part of the equation, the other is implementing it ...

Its psych warfare.. like the yankees yapping about "their magic".

Well, we might not have magic, but we have a PA system and a Frank Sinatra CD.. Ha!

I think the look on Joe Torre's face after NY, NY was played on the PA system tonight will last me a life time. Anytime I get bummed or feel blue, I'll have that look.

The "New York, New York" song was Colangelo, the owner's idea to get back at the Yanks. He said he was tired of hearing that song in NY.

It was hilarious when I heard that song come on with the game over.

That was a slap in the face to the Yanks and it was great. Torre looked pissed (but he always looks pissed).

Clemens is going to bat?? Oh boy. Schilling should give him something he can hit so he can injure himself trying to run the bases. If Clemens beans anyone... lookout.

I also think that the "New York, New York" thing might give New York a great deal of motivation, and maybe hurt Dbacks, they should have waited till tonight after the game.

You were "ready" last evening. Remember how Johnson was going to fold under pressure, and the statement as to how much better a "pressure pitcher" Pettit was?

When they played New York, New York in Arizona ... that felt wrong. They were clearly taunting the Yankees, right in their faces.

But then, the Yankees did that everytime they won at home so they deserved a little in their faces.
