Any great places in London to buy DVD used or new? Anything beyond the big ones- HMV, Tower, or Virgin. If there are any secret B&M stores out there that anyone frequents please let me know. I will be in London and Amsterdam soon and would love to pick up some R2s. Thanks.

Pioneer Electronics store on Shaftesbury Avenue near Chinatown has some region two and last time I checked a few region one but if you want a better selection make your way to Notting Hill and check out The Laserdisc Shop (may be called something else now). Their phone number is 02072433142 and they will probably have the largest number of titles in stock and for a store they usually have fairly decent prices - nothing like on-line but good enough if you need an instant fix!

The Computer Exchange in Tottenham Court Road, near Goodge St. tube station, has some DVDs in R1 and R2 for sale. Not exactly great prices, but worth a look maybe.

You should go to The Cinema Store in Covent Garden, it is actually quite near Leicester Square station as well. Downstairs, they have loads of R1 and R2 DVDs and the blokes in there seem to know their stuff as well. The only drawback is that it is reasonably pricey, but if you want to walk out of the store with those brand new R2 releases, without worrying and waiting for them to come through the post, the store is worth visiting.

HMV has a sale on , with stuff like Lock Stock Director’s Cut, Hard Rain, Wilde and others for £9.99 plus some cheaper stuff for £5.99 - worth a look.
