Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7

takashi miike's "crows zero II" is out now :

http://www.moviexclusive.com/estore/...?productID=411

first legit subbed disc of this. still a completist of miike's work - despite the (apparent) misleading mainstream nature or familiarity many believe they have with what he's been doing, the spate of crossover popularity (which has dropped off) and the relative disappointment of his recent bigger budget work - because the first crows movie was one of the best of recent years, with nice photography and enough imagination to make something memorable.

the singapore disc of the first film, despite suffering from slight compression issues that were apparent in upscaling, was also the first legit disc with subs. media blasters licensed the film for america, but took something like 9 months to a year to get around to putting it out. the difference in the price i would pay would be minor, in the end.

although disappointing, according to the few comments i've heard of it, i'll also be getting "god's puzzle" via yesasia very soon too :

moviexclusive is just so expensive! I may have to bite on that one though. I already bought God's Puzzle, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

if MB release, it won't be much cheaper, and it will be some time before it's out.

can you let me know what the Taiwanese disc of "gods puzzle" is like.

True, but I may be able to get the HK disc sooner, I have the HK disc of the first movie. Who knows, I'll probably cave and order it from Singapore.

I'll try to watch it this weekend. I know that it seems to be only 2.0 audio but anamorphic video. So there's that, I can't confirm it yet.

Anyone pick up the new UK Johnny Stecchino disc? All existing discs as far as I know are full frame and I can't find any info on this one.

just checked. crows zero II has been picked up and certified for release in HK, so there will be a cheaper disc there, but it might be a while before it appears...

All from Blah:

Passenger £8.95 + £1.00 shipping
Audition / Talent Show £8.91 + £1.00 shipping
Love (Szerelem) £8.83 + £1.00 shipping

That completes my Second Run collection, with the exception of Interrogation, which no one seems to carry.
