El Sur - any good english friendly versions??
Having just been blown away by Spirit of the Beehive (which btw makes Pan's Labyrinth look overly forced and simple, no mean feat), I looked through Victor Erice's filmography and came across El Sur.
Is there any english friendly dvd versions of this that are worth getting? Dont care about extras, just good picture and video with decent subtitling.

thanks for the answer pro-b, shame though. I hope this is rectified soon enough.
Also, I saw your review where you talk about colour correction by criterion, and also the shots on dvdbeaver, and Beehive did appear to possess a red tint to the image (as quite a few of criterion's releases do). Is that what you were referring to ?

There was a Japanese box containing Beehive and El Sur, with japanese subtitles only. Unfortunately its out of print, although I found a used copy for 30,000 Yen.....
Much better than the 69,000 Yen being asked on amazon jp
