Musa 1 disc korean region free, how is it?

i got this dvd for free since an auction for infernal affairs was over 50 bucks on ebay, and was wondering how this dvd is, compared to other region dvds?

$50 for Infernal Affairs? It better have been all 3 movies or the boxset if you paid that much.....

The Korean edition of Musa was a 2-disc Region 3 with the directors cut.
I don't think there was a 1 disc version released over there.

Are you sure it was an import from Korea?

give us a link to your auction.

I think what he meant by korean is that its a korean movie not a korean release. The deluxe edition is edited just to let you know. I have seen both versions but i prefer the hk edit because the orignal cut was a bit long and had unneccessary moments. The hk edit kept it fresh and moving.

alright, i got the trilogy of infernal affairs. i am almost 100% sure that infernal affairs is not a boot.
the musa dvd has the title on the front and "the star of Crouching tiger, hidden dragon special edition" on the bottom. the run time is 155 minutes, all region amaorphic widescreen. lets see, the company as listed on the dvd itself says "ec dvd shop".

I haven't seen the HK release, but I can definitely see the need for the editing. The 155 minute Korean release was way to long and bogged down in meaningless and repetitious fights and squables.

for those interested, i just won this auction
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6354199898
which was all 3 movies by media asia.
51.99 plus 5 bucks shipping, so getting a good copy of the trillogy isn't cheap.
here's a pic of all 3 movies

the infernal affairs dvds look just like the picture. they came in slipcases, (like men in black de or mp and hte holy grail se by columbia) which came out to keepcases.

That's pretty much retail price for that... you could've saved like 6-7 bucks getting it from a HK based store. You didn't necessarily overpay though.

To answer your question, yes there are 2 versions of Musa out in Korea. One is the 1 disc version and the other is the 2 disc director's cut edition.

I recommend the 1 disc over the 2 disc as the latter will bore you to death. (Trust me, too long and meaningless)

However, I didn't like Musa at all. Only reason I watched this move was because of Zang Zi Yi :P

Can't quite understand what your saying. It does have to option to turn on/off subtitles in the option.

the question is since some forgien language dvds don't subtitle the signs or the prologue (hero region 0), i was wondering if the legit dvds subtitle the prologue and the actors names as well into english?

Hmm, good question. To my memory, I don't remember the Musa DVD subtitle the actor's name when movie starts. But, definately, they subtitle the prologue and signs.

Good enough answer?

I remember the limited R3 Musa I have didn't subtitle the dying words of someone and I asked the forum what he said and the only answer I got was "aaaaarrrgggh."

I don't remember... I'd have to watch it again. It was probably near the end.

well, the subs on my version aren't the greatest, there are no periods after quotations, a few lines (maybe 5 in the full 2 hours and 35 minutes) weren't subtitled, they sometimes move WAY too fast (a full one line english sentance, is sometimes just one korean word), and there are a few minor spelling errors.

also, my version has a commentary track as well.

funny how she can do that. she makes any movie bearable =) but I second your feeling of Musa. as for the region free disc, most I've seen aren't that great quality. at least from what I've sampled through Netflix, they seem to be cheap quality, bad picture, limited features, soundtracks, etc. Good if you just want to see the movie but not the best if you really like it. My thoughts on that....
