Anyone else notice that the trailer that is accessable from the film's homepage proper is different than the one on the intro page (English Narrator, subtitled dialogue)?
Intro page:

just finished watching it...
got my copy in oakland chinatown.
it's not a bootleg if you're wondering...
like many of the reviews we've read.
it's not as good as SS.
chow doesn't have as much screen time
it's not a laugh-fest
blah blah blah
but, i still enjoyed the flick a damn lot...
it's not so much as a comedy
as it's more of an homage to all the
kickass old-school kungfu flicks
and kungfu itself (both the real forms and fantasy forms)
dvd-wise
it's a barebones release
aside from the flick and dts
all we have are a buncha trailers for american movies...
(unless there are easter-eggs)
i'm not sure if it's my tv...
but, the video had this flicker to it...
kinda annoying...
audio was cool
both dd and dts sounded fine...
but, some of the subtitles were slightly off
example...
(very minor spolier)
at the end of the final fight
the beast bows and says, "i lost"
but, the subtitle says, "master"
the context ain't here...
so, watch the flick and you'll understand...
and fyi...
this place had the limited ed for $100
i passed on it and just got the dvd ($20)
-wing
ps - to go off on a sidenote about the flick
minor spoiler again...
is he "their" son or not?
watch it, you'll get what i mean

i've decided to pass and wait for a special edition. i can't bear to buy a barebones release. and alot of people have asked the same question on whether or not, Sing is the son of "them". i think these questions will be answered in the sequel.

Just recently converted my dvd player to be region free, and am still a newbie at buying foreign dvd's. So far all my purchases have been online, but would be interested in going to some actual places to browse through what they have to offer.

Hi all,
I just finished watching KFH from my LE Collector's Gift Set...
What can I say? I had the privilege to be the few who saw the world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Great ode to the classic old-school kung fu flicks...
I too was disappointed with the lack of special features. The transfer was pretty good (no ghosting, a little contrasty but that could be my tv), audio was excellent, subtitles were a bit large, but at least they were on the black bar unobscuring the picture.
The collector's gift set comes with a deluxe leather dvd box, Kung Fu Hustle Booklet/Manual, antique certificate and serial number, Kung Fu Hustle movie photo album, and last but not least, Stephen Chow's Hand Plaque with Autograph...
The bronze-like plaque is cool (too bad it isn't real bronze or bronze-plated), the leather box is nice and holds the dvd, manual, photo album and certificate. All of it comes in a rather chinsy cardboard box.
Was it worth it? Well, if it was a 2-disc edition with special features, I wouldn't have complained.
I might take some pics later if anyone's interested.

I got my LE collectors set today in Chinatown...It also came with a bag that has a Kung-Fu Hustle 2005 calendar and watch as well. Did this come with those that got it from the internet? I was just wondering if this was a special or came with all of them.
