Haute Tension: CDWOW Exclusive Uncut Version Region 3

I just finished watching it, and I can say there is definitely stuff there, that wasn't included in the cut version. I am guessing it is uncut then, but there is one part I have a question about. Hopefully someone who has seen the french release can answer this.
Spoilers :
I must also say the picture quality is quite good, but I thought the DTS track was a bit lacking, it could of just been the way the sound was designed though.
I will probably sell this release on Ebay and pick up the R2, since the picture quality is supposibly better on it. It says "Region All" on the back, so it shouldn't be a problem. Unless someone here wants it?

CDWow has the R2 ver up for preorder at $28+. I placed my order with Amazon Uk for $20 + shipping...added "The Sting" and "Raising Arizona" (two that R1 can't get right) for a total of $48 delivered.

Can someone explain to me why cdwow is selling this as some sort of exclusive to their store, when it's just the new 2 disc Korean release that can be bought at any Korean retailer? Am I misunderstanding something?

For anyone that is interested, not sure if this has been posted, but I found a comparison of the French 2 Disc, the upcoming UK disc, and the uncut Korean disc at DVDbeaver.

thanks for the beaver link.
also worth mentioning that the korean release has not so great subtitles, coupla spelling and grammar errors which were somewhat distracting. not that there's a lot of talking goin on but still...

exactly the same package and content as the wow version
the 91min. running time listed at wow is incorrect, it's 86something like the others.

For those of you who are interested, the Optimum UK release of this movie is now available. According to that DVD Beaver site, it has so far the best overall picture, and it has english subs.

I just ordered this from Amazon UK, came out to around $25 bucks. I was just wondering, since this is my first order from them. My item shows up on the invoice on the account, I was wondering if they send you verification or confirmation emails right away or when they ship it?

You should get a confirmation email when you order. You could also check "Your Account" on the website to see that your order is in there.
I had this preordered and received it yesterday. Picture and sound look good, with the high contrast/ strong blacks look that is popular right now. Extras are basically the contents of the French DVD with a "UK exclusive" commentary in english. Looks like a good package, and I can't wait to check out the film!

Sort of a theoretical question, but one that arises everytime I'm trying to decide between a PAL vs. NTSC transfer (especially when the latter is from a PAL source, as I think the "CD-WOW exclusive" one is)...
Does anyone think it might be better to get the (PAL-converted?) R3 NTSC version if one has a NTSC-only monitor? I'm just not sure whether my player will do a better PAL>NTSC conversion than the one done for the R3 transfer.

just go the UK/Optimum disc today in the mail.
-video quality is pretty solid. not sure how much of a difference it is from the French release. I'm sure someone else could pick out some differences.
-audio commentary with Alexandre Aja, Cecile De France and someone else is in english
-subtitles are way too big
-menus look awesome

The French version seems to have a more consistant bitrate video wise. You can get the 1 disc on xploitedcinema.com but it is around 25+ bucks. the 2 disc is even more than that if you can find it through an international retailer.
I would say the UK version would be the best to get. It has pretty good video quality. It has an audio commentary which isn't available on any other release. All of the extras that are on the French 2 disc are on the UK disc, but the UK disc has them all subtitled. Bought it through Amazon UK came out to around 25 bucks including shipping.
If you are worried about price at all the new R3 uncut version is available at xploitedcinema.com for I think 17.95
