Don't know how big the extras are though...

no subs, no chance. Its crappy interactive subtitles for english watchers, so basically you press the sub button when you want them on, and no way will I suffer that. but cheap and nice cover.

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, the subtitles seem kind of weird. And what exactly does this mean: "(English with Chinese subtitles only for Non-English Language parts)". The only "non English" part of the film is "The Cruel Tutalage of Pai Mei" and that scene is in Cantonese. What kind of subs will that scene have: just English, just Chinese, both? The above description is kind of confusing.

As for extras, the "B-roll" could be the deleted scene, and the LA premiere is probably the Chigon performance (in other words, nothing new). The international press junket interviews sounds different though.

And is this a HK release? There is nothing listed at dddhouse or layoyo yet, and its kind of weird that a German site would list this first. Cool cover at any rate.

It means, the film playes in the origanal soundtrack whatever spoken, but if you need any subtitles for any non english spoken parts assume you have to turn on the subs yoursefl (but if it hasnt got english subs we get nothing), which I dont like doing, so will just get the proper version of the film and sit back and enjoy.

So, it's like the Japanese version of Vol 1? In that case it was worth the effort in order to see the Japan cut of the film, but in this case, the R1 Vol 2 is good enough for me. (already bought it and watched it twice )

Got the Region 3 dvd early from cd-wow. Here's a short overview of the discs:

Disc 1:

-2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
-DD 5.1/DTS 5.1
-Traditional + Simplified Chinese subs
-English subs voor the non-English parts, but they only work if you watch the movie with Chinese subs. If you turn the subs off, you won't see the non-English parts subtitled, so there's nothing burnt-in.
-Vol. 1 Trailer/Vol. 2 Teaser

Disc 2:

-Vol.2 Trailer
-Select scene (8:25): Just a selection of the 'best' scenes
-Select soundbite (9:39): Interviews
-B-Roll (5:35)
-International Junket Generic Interviews (39:53)
-L.A. Premiere (8:20)
-Stars' Files
-Photo Gallery

The deleted scene is nowhere to be found...

Well, at least it seems to have the full trailer for Vol 2, which for some stupid reason was left off the R1 release. A bunch of interviews is nice too. What does the "B-Roll" consist of?

It indeed contains both the teaser and trailer for Vol. 2... The B-Roll footage shows Tarantino directing scenes including Pai Mei training The Bride.

Thanks for the info. One more question, is this the Hong Kong release of the film? (I think Universe Laser would be listed on the packaging as the distributor if it is). The completist in me is considering picking this up for the additional extras, considering I can get it at dddhouse for about 14 bucks.

Yes, the distributor is Universe Laser.

By the way, i think the cover is very nice (including a slipcover).
