saw the US theatrical trailer last Monday - it looks insanely funny, can't wait for either the DVD or the US run, which ever comes first.

Layoyo.com have the R3 version released on 11 August??

Do you reckon they've got it wrong?

that's probably right since that's the vcd... careful.

Question - will the R3 DVD contain the same extras as the R2? I'd kinda prefer to get it in NTSC instead of PAL all things being equal.

The R3 disc seems to be cheaper than the R2. Why is this?

I seriosuly wouldnt expect any extras on a R3 dvd for a UK film ever.

Because R3 dvds are ussually cheap and nasty crap and cost nothing, expect no extras at all, but maybe pointless DTS.

Layoyo.com is only listing a VCD now, no dvd. DDDhouse.com still shows the dvd.

just noticed a strange thing, I may acctually be wrong as the R3 dvd may just be released by Universal and they are doing the extra packed Dawn of the dead dvd! so you never know! it may have extras! and yes the R3 dvd will be announced soon I guess, but wont be as cheap as a VCD but if its a Universal asian dvd, it wont be cheap at all.

The R3 Bend It Like Beckam was the UK cut, extras-laden, AND came with the soundtrack... so it does happen, sometimes...

I got this response back from DDDHouse when I asked about the features:

"This movie will be released by Universe Home/ERA Hong Kong Ltd, they have very limit information provide to wholesaler, so, we have to wait it out and then post the details out."

Still waiting for a response back from this place:

http://www.movietyme.com/catalog/pro...ducts_id=22024

Meanwhile I've got my preorder in at cd-wow.

Amazon.co.uk emailed me this morning. They have an exclusive limited edition packaging release of Shaun of the Dead ( found here ) I changed my order from the regular release to this one and the difference in price was only 1p.

In the email they state that it is a slipcover so the movie poster artwork would still be the real cover I assume.

Thanks fnordboy,

The Amazon cover looks cool, but its the same price for the non-slip-cover version at cd-wow (before any coupons/vouchers) and they have free shipping, so I'm just gonna stick with my cd-wow order.

I noticed that CD-WOW now has the R3 release listed as well (for 11.99 GBP and a release date of Sept 7th) Unfortunately there is no info on the extra features though .

CDWow lists the SotD R2 at £12.99, Amazon lists it as £11.06 in my order page (VAT removed). I know it doesn't help so much with the shipping being free at CD-Wow, but I figured I would let you know of the price post VAT removal.

You can find our detailed review of the UK Shaun Of The Dead DVD here.

Snippet:
This disc is superb, and is one of the most jam-packed single disc releases I have encountered. While 4 commentaries may seem excessive, they are all worth a listen, and the featurettes and onset footage really get across how much fun everyone had making the film. Indeed, there are so many moments of pratting about, it really is a wonder the movie ever got finished! Thankfully, the overflowing extras haven't affected the technical presentation, and a decent transfer, coupled with a barn storming, rip snorting, bowel trembling soundtrack, make this a pretty essential purchase.

Yet ANOTHER "exclusive" cover is available at HMV.. Looks like they have a poster/comic included.

Price is about the same with the VAT removed, and the shipping is cheaper than amazon if you buy 2 or 3 items..

You can see it HERE

What's their shipping like to the US? And about how long does it take to get here?

THe shipping usually ends up being almost exactly what the VAT was (so basically your cost with shipping is usually what their initial price is) if that makes any sense, I may not have explained it well.

I live on the East Coast and I usually get orders from AMazon UK within a week.

Yeah, shipping at HMV is WAY cheaper than Amazon, and just as fast.. Only a week normally (And i'm at the bottom of the world in New Zealand!!)

Plus the more you buy with HMV, the cheaper the per item shipping gets...
