limited selection
Das Leben ist eine Baustelle - comedy/drama
Was nicht passt, wird passend gemacht - comedy
... are the two I can think of at the moment. There are many more good German films on DVD, but they're either not Germany-exclusive or not English subtitled.
Good luck.

I remember Henrik quipping "Deutsche Komödien - now there's an oxymoron if ever I saw one!...". Which is pretty true.
But there are some German comedies worth catching. The two mentioned above are very good. The rest in the linked thread are great, but the DVDs don't have subs (although I've been having great luck finding homebrew English subtitles for Scandinavian flicks on the filesharing networks, German ones might be available as well)...
For what it's worth, I remember seeing the German comedy Advertising Rules! on the shelf at Blockbuster a while back. I never got around to watching it, and the reviews, as I recall, were not so good.
