Master of the flying guillotine question
is the restored and cleaned up version thats coming out inthaters today the sam eone thats currently on DVD? or should I waitt??

I asked Pathfinder whether the DVD would be the same as the theatrical print after seeing the theatrical print myself and being somewhat unimpressed. Here was their reply:
"...in regards to the 35mm theatrical print, there was some permanent damage as you had seen in the negatives, so some of that fading and strobing can never be removed unless we spent thousands of dollars to do computer generated color enhancement. The good news is that the DVD looks a lot better than what you had seen in the theater since some of the color problems can be fixed in the video stage."
And, my $0.02, as far as I can tell, the DVD does look significantly better than the print I saw in my local theater. And also--unlike my Berkeley, CA theater experience--when I watched the DVD at home there wasn't a crazy person with a jug full of change counting it repeatedly and making odd moaning sounds while pacing up and down the aisles. Thank God...
