Hiroshi Teshigahara Box Set DVD R2 Japan
This is an update from my previous question regarding the new Woman In The Dunes DVD... There is actually a Hiroshi Teshigahara 6 DVD Box set available now with the following movies:
- The Pitfall
- Woman In The Dunes (new 147 min print director's cut)
- Face Of Another
- Summer Soldiers
- The Man Without A Map
- 200 min.Short Works compilation
Supposedly all have new HD transfers and Woman In The Dunes comes from a new print. English subtitles on everything but The Man Without A Map (this is according to the manufacturer's website and the cdjapan.co.jp website)
Approx cost: $145 plus shipping.
Here is a link to the set on amazon.co.jp

It looks like a pretty nice set. I hope someone will be able to confirm if all, but one of the dvd's has Eng subs. I think I will hold off getting any version of Woman in The Dunes for the time being.
It look's like the short films don't have subs either
Here are some reviews from KFC for a few of the films.

Even though Woman in the Dunes is already available as a Region 1 disc, I would get this set in a heartbeat if there were English subs. Teshigahara is one of the great filmmakers of all time, and the handfull of the films I've seen here -- Face of Another, Pitfall and Woman in the Dunes -- are nothing less than amazing.
If anyone gets definitive info on the subs situation, please fill us in!
