Hi, does anyone know if UMBERTO D is available in any region on dvd? I know it's not out here, though it will (probably) be coming out from Criterion, later this year. I really wanted to catch it now, on dvd, if I can.

I've looked on some French, German, Italian, and Japanese sites but came up with nothing. I wouldn't say I did an exhaustive search, but I'm guessing we have to wait a bit to see this one on dvd. Sorry.

In the US, it's first going to receive a theatrical release before coming to Criterion DVD.
There is a big Janus Films poster for the restored Umberto D. that was hanging in the lobby of the Castro Theater. |
