OK, I'm strangely intrigued by this title and wondered if anyone had seen the film/DVD. Your thoughts? Is Mandarin the original language?

ScreachingWeasel, I couldn't resist and added it to my DDDHouse order! You'll probably watch it before me (I'm sooooooo backlogged), so please post your thoughts when you see it!

Dude I know what you mean about being backlogged this order alone was 61 dvds. I think it will probably be one of the first I watch, so hopefully it shouldn't be to long after I get my movies.

I watched it a few weeks ago and quickly scanned through it again last night.
It's a worthwhile watch. Nice to see a Mainland film in a modern urban setting.
Not as good as Suzhou/Suzhou River but it a similar feel to it. Listen for the
Karen Mok song in the background in the cafe scene mid way through the picture.
Check out Crash Landing for pure fun. It's essetially a remake of the Airport disaster movie. Very slick, nice looking picture.
Anyone pick up So Close To Paradise? or Chun Tao - A Woman For Two? These are two other recent Mainland releases I've noticed.

(My American and other foreign films take a big chunk of my money, too!)
And by the way, it's "dudette".
dleedlee, thanks for your comments! I've had "Suzhou River" on my "to see" list for a while.

Here's a link to review from another forum that I wholeheartedly agree with
(and better written than I could have done)

dleedlee, thanks for that link! In any case, it seems worth the inexpensive cost of that title!
cine -- isn't "So Close to Paradise" available pretty widely? I know I saw it at my local Tower this weekend.

I also read a dvdtalk review that complained about the audio track dropping in and out, so be warned. Hopefully, it is not a transfer problem and only a random pressing issue.

rkndkn, I rarely shop retail anymore, I am so lazy and the service is so bad.
Locally, our Tower's have cut back the past few years on counter help, that there is always line at the register. Plus I like the cheap thrill of receiving packages in the mail.
