3 nominations for Sammi Cheng?? Man she had better win.

I think Lan Yu will win a bunch.

I agree. Though Lan Yu seems to be much more popular in Taiwan than in HK, which has been receiving a much lower profile reception?

What's July Rhapsody about? That's the only one I haven't heard of.

July Rhapsody won't come out officially in HK until mid-March. It made its way into this year's nomination list because it technically played for 2 days in December at a screening in HK.

Just a wild guess, but since the title of the movie in Chinese is 'Man at age 40', I would say that there might be some similarities to the movie Summer Snow, where the Chinese title is 'Woman at age 40'.

The official site for July Rhapsody can be found at:

http://www.julyrhapsody.com

Not subtitled, but you can click around and see a lot of pictures if you can't read Chinese. One of the selections does a slight nasty thing and changes the screen into full screen mode without any way to close the screen, but you can click at the top left corner and the screen will resize and regain its controls.

Thanks for the info Yellow Hammer. You da man as always. I have heard of this. I had heard of Man at age 40 in Sanney's entertainment news. Didn't know it was called July Rhapsody. Sounds like it might be worth checking out. Let me know if you see it or hear a review.

I got a bunch of the newer dvd's in today, can't wait to check them out. Got some that are on the list of nominations. Visible Secret, From the Queen..., Funeral March, and Midnight Fly. Can't wait to watch those. Already watched Love on a Diet, Shaolin Soccer and Wu Yen. Really enjoyed all of them especially Shaolin. I want to see Lan Yu really bad. Anybody seen it yet or gotten the dvd yet? Sorry for the rambling but the mail lady woke me up with my HK order and I am kinda out of it hehe.

your first batch (Wu Yen, Shaolin Soccer, Love on a Diet) are popular movies. Your current batch (From the Queen.., Funeral March, Midnight Fly, Visible Secret, etc.) are a bit more esoteric, especially Midnight Fly. You'll see what I mean.
