"Amelie" and "Delicatessen" SEs coming in April in the UK!

Now this is what I call good news: details of the upcoming UK R2 DVD releases of "Amelie" and "Delicatessen" have just been announced.

Amelie - April 15th
  • Director's Commentary
  • Storyboards
  • Script to Screen Feature
  • Teaser Trailers
  • Trailer
  • Talent Q & A Feature
  • Director's Interview
  • Audrey Tautou's Funny Faces Feature
  • Making of Amelie Featurette
List price is $24.99. Quite pricey but I'm sure there'll be discounts. (A cheaper single disc edition will also be released on the same day.)

Delicatessen - April 15th
  • Widescreen 1.85:1 (presumably anamorphic)
  • Dolby Digital Surround
  • Director's Commentary from Jean-Pierre Jeunet
  • Making of Feature;
  • Fine Slices (and delicacies) from Diane Bertrand
  • Archive Footage From the Archives of Jean-Pierre Jeunet
  • 6 Teasers
  • Trailer

I don't know about you, but April might very well turn out to be the best DVD month ever for me! And although the "Amelie" set doesn't seem to have all the extras from the French release (), I might still buy it if no R1 announcement is made by April.

I doubt the UK version will include the French dts track though. I think the US Miramax release may at least have that. I'm also wondering what the technical specs and supplemental features will be on the Canadian release. So many versions to consider.

I don't think so and I hope not. Since French is the commentators' first language, they shouldn't have to try to do the track in English. Of course, subs are a must.

i was just curious cause on the us, region 1, city of lost children, he does the commentary in english, but french is fine with me as long as it's subbed, that'd be great, i just haven't come across any subbed commentaries before, unfortunately.

thanks

That's the problem that we, the poor frenchmen of Region 1, have every single day or so. There is some exceptions now, but still, nobody wants to do french subs for us, when it would only encourage the shipping of those titles to France or Belgium
