Korean Fallen Angels
Has anybody picked this up yet? In the book that came with Samurai Fiction it's listed as being Anamorphic with English subs. The company is Daum Media. I really just want to know how the video quality is, so if you have some answers I would appreciate it. It's available at www.asiandb.com for about 35 bucks.

Fallen Angels and Centre Stage (Korean versions)
Fallen Angels - asiandb.com lists it as Cantonese
Question on Stanley Kwan's CENTRE STAGE aka THE ACTRESS:
asiandb.com lists this as the 167 minute version. Can anyone confirm this?
They show the Tai Seng cover so its doubtful, but I'd like to think it is.
Can anyone check the Korean Saerom site (the distributor)? I couldn't find
it listed but maybe a Korean reader could locate it.

Centre Stage and Fallen Angels
Turns out the Centre Stage DVD is not 167 minutes. Here's the
reply I got back from asiandb.com:
------ quote ---------
Dear Sir,
1. The running time of Centre Stage DVD video is 121 mins.
Sorry for the confusing, but the167min only means the original film running
time.
2. The Fallen Angel DVD video support both 2.35:1 and full screen version.
Thank you.

Asiandb.com has updated their site and now lists the running time as 121 minutes.
Answer #2 had to do with Fallen Angels being listed as a dual format disc.
So, apparently, it is.

Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to watch the Korean "Fallen Angels" DVD yet? If not, it's understandable, considering everything that's happened. I haven't felt like watching DVDs today or yesterday either.

Finally got it. Checked it really quickly and it is 16:9 widescreen (the box also mentions a full screen version), removable english or korean subs but it only has a mandarin dd5.1 audio track. I don't have the Ocean Shores release but the picture doesn't look too great compared to the R2 Chungking Express. Also, the dvd doesn't really have a menu, only a chapter search (8 chapter stops btw).
If anybody wants this, check out the trade thread in this forum.

Also got Centre Stage. I haven't opened it yet but it lists the running time as 121 mins and has the same catalog number as the Mega Star release. I doubt it's anamorphic like the Saerom site says since they got the running time wrong.
I also got the Korean release of Eighteen Springs. Haven't opened it yet but it looks to have the same specs as Fallen Angels. I know it doesn't have english subs though so I'll probably end up returning it with Centre Stage since I was hoping for a cantonese track.
Other korean releases of chinese movies that look different:
Peacock King (Mega Star?)
Winners and Sinners
The Champions
A Fighter's Blues (DTS, DD, Making-of, other features)
Also, they have the Mega Star releases OUATIC 1-3 available as a box set for about the same price as DDDHouse.

Is the HK release of Eighteen Springs from Mei Ah really bad?
Thanks for the report, though. Let us know anything else you find.
