Re: MoviePass Beta Invite (Unlimited Movies in Theater)
Same here. I used to frequently watch Friday night, Saturday afternoon, which is not possible anymore with the 24 hour clock. Having to reschedule my weekends because of this limitation is annoying, but not a deal breaker, because I am still coming out on top financially.
Unless they raise prices or add some more restrictive "features", I'll continue to use it.

I'm still a member. I happen to live in Los Angeles so I have quite a few options for theaters for both mainstream and indie movies. The countdown clock is shitty but it's still worth the money to me.

Keep an eye on your bills. They switched down to $29.99/month (without telling the people who pay more than that). I was paying $34.99 so I emailed and they're switching me to that price and reimbursing me for overpaying the past few months.

Is it $29.99 only in certain regions? When I try to make a "new" account in Los Angeles it still shows $34.99.

It must be for certain regions in that case. I tried looking it up in Boston and D.C. and it was $29.99 now, but was $34.99 in D.C. when I first signed up.

Re: MoviePass Beta Invite (Unlimited Movies in Theater)
I noticed yesterday that the 24-hour clock was gone (or at least in my case it was). I purchased a ticket on Saturday at 5:15pm, and went to buy a ticket on Sunday and it let me buy a 4:30pm showing (it was about 5 pm). Have they scrapped that?

In another thread, somebody said it's a 14 hour clock now.

It does look like my clock is down to around 12 hours. I hope this isn't some kind of test because this awesome, this allows me to go back to the Friday night, Saturday matinee routine I had before the stupid 24 hour clock.

Mine still says 24 hours. I haven't tried checking in between 12-24 hours though.
Current annoyance: the app, for some reason, doesnt' give me the "go buy your ticket!" prompt. So I'm never sure that it went through until I do the process again and it says 'You can still go!"
I did find something out - I was going to see a movie, I checked in, turns out it was sold out. I called then to clear the pending charge - if you check in, then don't use the credit within 30 minutes, it drops off and resets. Hasn't been an issue except once but nice to not have to make a phone call.

Re: MoviePass Beta Invite (Unlimited Movies in Theater)
Seems like two of my local theaters are included, so I may join, but was looking at their Terms and Conditions...what is the connection with DVD and Blu-rays?

You used to be able pre-order movies on DVD/BD (can't seem to find the menu for it now), but I doubt anyone ever used that "feature." And on another note, the clock is back to 24 hrs for me.

Re: MoviePass Beta Invite (Unlimited Movies in Theater)
I've been weighing whether or not to sign up (NYC, so $35/month). Quick question for users.
This 14/24 hour clock you mention, is it based on the showtime or the purchase time? For example, if I want to see a movie at a local theater that is prone to selling out, so I go on a Thursday to purchase my Saturday tickets. Can I buy tickets less than 14/24 hours later for a Friday showing?

It's based on the showtime. Technically you can only purchase tickets for the same day as far as the app is concerned. So on the App, you will check in to a movie and pick a show time for that day. From there, you can buy whatever ticket you want with the card. Then, 24 hours from that showtime (as chosen on the app), you can buy another ticket.
Also, the 14 hour thing somehow went back to 24 for me as well. Fuck this.

I signed up and got my card yesterday, so I go today to see Birdman and it ended up being kind of a big pain in the ass. Well, not that big of a pain, but I ended up having to contact them and have them manually check me in to the movie. I have the android app, which is supposed to be pretty awful, does anyone use the android app? Just curious if I should be prepared to have to contact them every time I see a movie.
Also is there any way to update my account info without using the app? For some reason the exp. date on my credit card is showing the wrong month, but when I try and update it it just says "error loading page".

The android app does kind of suck, and each update makes it slightly less usable. Last time I tried to use it, the app would do absolutely nothing when I clicked "check in". When I call them, they are very helpful and take care of me quickly, but I wish the app worked like it used to.
I haven't used it in about a week though.
I have had to call them maybe two times in two years or so, and one email to support.
Check in to the showing that is about to start, or did just start in the last few minutes (I get into movies 10 minutes late quite often, there's always 10-20 min of previews). Once you check in, the card is activated, but they don't know what movie or showing you're actually buying from the ticket booth...

Out of curiosity, is the twenty-four hour clock still a "thing?" MoviePass is currently having a 20% off sale for new customers (making it $24 a month for me), but the clock has me questioning it.

I just tried to check in after checking in for a 6:50 last night, and it says Sorry, you may only see one movie in a 24 hour period.
I wouldn't mind 20% off. I have slow months but I overall get my money's worth.

Yeah, the 24 hour clock is still a thing. It's had its intended effect (from MoviePass's perspective) in that I use it less. I'm still saving money each month, but less so than I did before the clock.

They're switching over to MasterCard now, so everybody should be getting a new card. Hopefully this will allow for more theaters to participate.
