i'm gonna go out on a limb and say about 99% of the people who purchased this, don't live in the East Valley of Arizona.

i've never been there. i had to click on east valley, az from a drop down box to get the deal. i thought it was a regional thing where word got out and everyone jumped on it. didn't think that it might be a national deal.

Here's the back story on the deal. (Google "Living Social" and "Amazon" and wsj.com for details. (DVD Talk won't let me post links until 30 posts.)
They sold almost TWO MILLION of them.
If you referred 3 friends who bought you got yours FREE

I didn't even get my order confirmation, or free deal confirmation until about 8pm and 1130pm last night... they were both really slow on getting to me, so I'm sure the actual gift card code emaill will be slow as well.

i haven't received anything yet either. i didn't even get a confirmation email to say i ordered it. i wonder if that's a bad thing.
so i just looked on the site and it's in my order history, so that's good.

Deal-of-a-Day site Living Social's huge day on Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2011) ended with a 50 percent off Amazon.com gift card deal expiring with 1,301,296 sold. It's unclear if all of those will stand as the deal "fine print" said one per customer, and various Tweets and more indicated various attempts to "game" the system.
The deal was for a $20 Amazon.com gift card for $10. The deal went viral, and easily topped the 2010 deal between Living Social's big rival, Groupon, and The Gap, which ended up with $11 million worth of Groupons sold. At 1.3 million and $10 apiece, that amounts to $13 million, though it is unclear just how much of that Living Social gets to keep.
Early in the day, it was said multiple buys were possible, but then the "fine print" was changed to prevent that. Additionally, some early buyers said they could use Deal Bucks for the purchase, but that was also changed later in the day.
In early December, Living Social received a $175 million investment from Amazon.com, which is where this daily deal obviously came from. Meanwhile, rival Groupon recently turned down a $6 billion acquisition offer from Google, and has been speaking to bankers about a possible IPO, some say in the Spring, and possibly valued at $15 billion.
You can still see the deal, although it's obviously expired, at the original location here. It's possible all the sales will not stand if Living Social decides to revoke the buys for some who purchased multiple gift cards.

It's coming soon guys. I work for LivingSocial and I'm still waiting on mine too.
They don't start running credit cards until a deal closes at 5:00am. Today they have had way more volume than they are used to, so the servers are acting slow. My GF just got hers, so I would assume everyone will get their deal voucher emailed to them by the end of the night.
FYI, there is no survey or other hoops to jump through. This is a legit deal. All you have to do is log into your LivingSocial account, after you are emailed, and it will appear under your "My Deals" tab. It'll be a standard GC code that you can type into your Amazon account to add $20 to your account balance.
Bear with them, they are doing their best to get all the credit cards processed as quickly as their servers will let them.

But my card was charged $10 and they changed the total a few hours later in my account section from $5 to $10 - as the receipt attached cleary shows.
$5 isn't shit right? but imagine $5 from 100,000 people.
They also changed their wording from one per account to one per person midway through the deal, I didn't sign up for multiple cards but technically they should be forced to honor anyone who ordered 1000 cards from 1000 different accounts as long as it was before the wording was changed, but I hear they are canceling double orders as they see them, search google for this company, what a pile of shit.

^ Yep. I ordered early on from this thread and hadn't been worried about the deal going through. Just checked the LivingSocial My Deals page and my code was there.

Re: $20 Amazon Gift Card $5
Entered all my info yesterday, got in for $10 or so I thought. I never got a confirmation email, and in "my deals", it's listed "Unused deal" and on my account page it's listed as "pending purchase" anyone more familiar with this?

Same for my wife and I. If it's showing up on your order history, I wouldn't worry, they probably just haven't gotten to us yet.
