Re: replacement ink for HP?

A few months back I bought ink directly from HP on their website with a $15 off coupon. They give you free next day shipping, too. The price for an XL color and normal b&w was around $40.

it depends, some generics are better than others. also, it may void warranty.

Here's a nice example of our throw-away culture. The last time I went to Target to get HP printer ink the two-pack was around $41 while a brand new printer/scanner with ink was $28. Pretty crazy.

Well, that's the catch for these companies. They want you to get the main hardware really cheap, but they make you pay repeatedly for the essential part that makes it work. From what I've seen, the cheaper the printer, the more ink it waste and the more you spend getting replacement cartridges.

the carts that come with printers are seem to have about 1/3 as much ink as the ones off the shelf.

Check Amazon, and look at marketplace sellers. That's where I buy mine.
