[DEAD] Newbury Comics - 50% off Gift Cards via WRKO! Hurry!!
This won't last long, probably not past today. WRKO is selling off $30 GC to Newbury Comics for $15 each. There were 1300+ available this morning, only 600 or so left right now. Maximum purchase of four.

(You can also link directly from WRKO homepage, listed under 'New England Perks'.)
Shipping was $4.25, so it was $64.25 to buy $120 in gift cards. What a deal!!

Geographically works for me, B&M-wise. Thanks OP!

In for 4. Even with their high retail prices, it's still a good bargain. I'll have to start keeping an eye out for their sales. Thanks OP!

/\ They have their 32nd Anniversary coming up, and will apparently be some sort of sale connected to it in a few weeks. Also, Record Store Day is coming up in the middle of April, so there should be some good deals that day, as well.

The sale is tomorrow only, and it's 32% off of everything. Of course, I haven't even been charged for my gift cards yet, much less received them. Who is minding the store over at WRKO?

Card was charged yesterday and my GCs supposedly shipped yesterday also. We'll see if they arrive today or soon...

Me too!
Too late for their birthday sale, but still in time for the annual Record Store day event, which usually brings some pretty good pricing.
I did notice that they have the Beatles Mono box for $199. That'd be only $100 cost if you have enough half-price gift cards, which is a pretty sweet deal.

How often does Newbury Comics include discount coupons with their emails? I remember they used to have a $3 off coupon every Sunday in the Boston Globe. This week's email had no discount coupon, and I didn't know if they issued them with any regularity.

/\ I haven't subscribed to their email newsletter for too long, but in the few months that I have, they really haven't sent any sort of discount coupons. They've usually just used it to announce Flash sales, and other in-store promos.

That's disappointing. I guess since they don't have any competition anymore, they don't really care about attracting casual customers. I called both local stores today in hopes of picking up the Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray, and both of them were charging list price - $24.99! I tried not to laugh when the clerk asked me if I wanted them to put a copy on hold. I guess I'll have to hold out for the next B1G1 sale, whenever that is.
