Sorry, my fault. I read your post the wrong way. The online clips for Treasure Island have a nice early seventies jazz feel that doesn't go off the deep end.

Don't see it mentioned in the thread, but the Radiohead reissues are a pretty solid deal through yourmusic. The 2-cd and 2-cd+dvd sets are $10 to $15 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen them.

I no longer see Madeleine Peyroux on the list of Coming Soon discs. Bad sign?

Yeah, I'd already gotten the first round of the re-issues before I knew they were hitting YM, but hopefully we'll see the remaining re-issues not long after release.

Miller_time22: Is there any sound quality difference in the Radiohead reissues? I purchased the original releases before BMG added the new ones to the catalog. Just wondering if they are worth it to pick up down the line...

I'm no audiophile and haven't done any waveform comparisons or anything myself, but my understanding from other forums is that the first discs are identical masters to the original versions. The primary reason to purchase these would be for the bonus materials.

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

News Flash! Get 'em while they're hot. etc.

Might have missed this in the forum, but today I received this note: "You were one of the best customers at your former Music Club, and we think you'd love yourmusic.com. Now through August 17th, get single CDs for $5.99! Use promo code 599CDS at checkout." Don't think it's member specific, but . . .

Enjoy!

Nice! I just got that email about the $5.99 CDs and I haven't converted either of my BMG accounts over yet, so they're still offering me a free one on each after I convert. That's 4 for $12. Time to pull the trigger.

I actually had just converted my BMG account over a few days prior, and placed my first order. Luckily it hadn't shipped yet though, so I just cancelled it and re-ordered.

Thanks for the heads up on these. It was $57 for Pablo Honey, Bends and OK Computer with the DVDs. It hurt a bit to pull the trigger, but I knew I had to have these, and I don't see them getting cheaper over time.

That code has been going around for at least a week (read some of the earliers posts in this thread).

Did you ask them to email you when it comes in? They then remove that artist from your view. Don't know why...............

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

FYI, the 599cds code works on box sets, though the email only mentioned single discs. For example, John Coltrane: The Village Vanguard Recordings. The cheaper price only shows up in the cart, though.

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

I placed an order a week or 2 ago. Then a couple of days later, the 599CDS code came out. I checked the status of my order, and it showed as "Backordered". So I cancelled it and re-ordered. Everthing seemed to go fine. My account still shows 2 total orders, one which was cancelled, and the other which shipped. My credit card was charged 1 time for $5.99.

Only odd thing is that today, I got two packages from yourmusic in the mail. I only opened one of them, but I can only assume that it is 2 copies of the same CD, as I haven't placed any other orders. As I said, I've still only been charged once. Should I send the second CD back, or open it and give it away to a friend?

Forgetting the morals involved (after all YM is a corporation), I'd at least suggest waiting a couple weeks to see if your card is charged.

As far as morals, I'm only going based on my experiences with Columbia House DVD Club, which I believe is part of the same corporation. Whenever Columbia House has made a mistake and shipped me the wrong item, etc. they've always told me to keep it for free. This difference though, is that they have always realized the mistake themselves and notified me of the mistake and that I could keep it (usually before I even recieved the item in question).

In this case it really seems like they don't know that they've shipped it to me twice. And that being the case, if I REALLY wanted to be immoral, I could write return to sender on the other one, not contact them, and see if they refund me my purchase price, while I keep the other CD for free. That wasn't one of the options I proposed though, and it's not something I'm seriously considering.

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

Here's a name I haven't seen under the coming soon list before: Def Leppard The last time I got a free Def Leppard CD from the club was Pyromania back in the 80s. Hysteria might have been in there but I bought it from the store. I know it's wishful thinking but I'd love to see the Deluxe Editions of those show up but it's most likely Songs From The Sparkle Lounge. Here's hoping more artists show up that haven't been in the club in awhile.

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

Just to add for all of you being "moral"stop kidding yourself............using all those BMG codes we shared online for all those years wasn't really "honest" either. They were meant for new and/or good customers............so save the sermons when someone gets a free CD. Hey I even told BMG a CD is damaged when only the case was if I ordered it for a gift. I wasn't going to pay to ship it back since the package was opened or give the CD as a gift once it was no longer factory sealed since the case had to be replaced. Oh well.............BMG should have used better packing so the cases didn't break as often as they did. Just my opinion.
