Since it is the start of the new thread, I would like to do my share by posting that the Y921 and Y922 codes for 90% off still appear to be working.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

To answer Frogmore's question (in Part 5 of this thread) about new releases on yourmusic.com (and thus BMG): On the left of the yourmusic.com home screen is a drop down "explore" box under the words "browse music". Select Coming Soon and a list of upcoming BMG releases will be displayed. I also prefer to view BMB's new releases from yourmusic by selecting New Arrivals from the same drop down box. The sort order can be changed from "Top Selling" to "Most Recent". This is much easier than going through all of the new release pages in BMG.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

It looks like they may not be adding things anymore - I could be wrong but I see a few new things on yourmusic.com that I was interested in - the latest Kanye West and Rivers Cuomo CDs, and they are not yet available on BMG. This is the first time I've seen something on one site and not on the other.

It's happened before. They should show it in a day or 2. They are still adding CDs as usual because I've been waiting on Trace Adkins' new CD X and it showed up on the site today.

Do the CDs from yourmusic.com have the BMG barcode like they do at BMG music?

Some do, some don't, same as BMG.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

I already own: Various Artists - The Best Of The Johnny Cash TV Show Selection #: 1746387.

It's a pretty good CD although I was hoping it would also include the performances of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and CCR who also appeared on the Johnny Cash TV show.

Thanks for the reply. If the usual 90-day lag between a title's release date and BMG appearance holds, Radiohead's reissues should hit the club 2-3 days before the last day to order. I have no clue why BMG is still issuing codes but I'll be hoping for one to make this purchase a nice send-off.

Oh wow, that would be an amazing way to end this club. Here's hoping!

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

it's been 6 days since I placed a $200 order, & 5 since I placed a second $8.00 order. The site still shows "processing" on both orders. My card has been billed around $175

I wonder what they'll say after BMG is gone.

This is back on my old theory that BMG/YM is probably trying to distance themselves from the BMG name - after all they're a few steps removed from the BMG music label now. I mean, why not just keep BMG and its name recognition and convert people to the YourMusic style of a queue? Whatever business model they end up sticking with, it must be better for them to end the brand instead of rework it.

That usually means that your order history has not been updated recently, which is probably because of the Memorial Day (holiday) weekend. I would guess that most of those orders have probably already shipped since you do see the charges on your credit card.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

both of my accounts show no account history other then my latest orders. One has said for at least 6 days, "Your Order History information is unavailable at this time, as we are currently updating our systems. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back later."

The other account has no statement at all.

I'm suspecting that the new owners are clueless.

The "new owners" are the same as the old owners: Direct Brands, Inc.

Follow-up: This bodes well for that:

"A new album by Radiohead is coming soon!
Check here to be notified by email when it is available."

Yep, just saw that. Good news about the Radiohead too. FYI, those 90% codes appear to be dead. Anybody have new codes?

I hoped to use the 90% off to pick up some of the Blue Notes just added but unfortunately, Y921 and Y922 are now dead. What's the best deal out there right now for individual discs? Looks like I'll have to try out the recent codes and see what I get.

Edit/addendum: Y911 and Y9X7 through Y9X9 for 2/3 off + free shipping are all dead. Y914 through Y919 for 80% off are all dead. I don't know of any codes that are currently live. My default deal is buy 1 get 4 free which comes to $6.58 per disc which is slightly better than YourMusic's $6.99 deal.

My last order must have made it just under the gun! Put it in on 5/26. Used Y921.

The old owners were BMG/Bertlesman/Sony. Direct Brands purchased BMG, Columbia House & Others from them.

Just out of curiosity... Some of the CDs sold by bmgmusic do not include lyrics in the booklet... Do the regular CDs have the same problem?
