Looks to be dead now. At the moment at least. Glad I used it a few days back when it was 25% to get a used 80GB PS3 Motorstorm Edition. Paired it up with Big Crumbs cashback too.
How did you do live and Big Crumbs?

live.com stays active for 60 minutes even when you leave the site. So, I just activated live.com and headed over to big crumbs and clicked on their ebay link. Also got cashback from my credit card

32" Samsung LCD with wall mount for my bedroom.

$626 - $94 (15% Ebay coupon) - $157 (25% Microsoft Cashback) = $375

Black Friday can go screw itself.

How / where did you get the 15% Ebay coupon?

Email. Ebay has to email it to you. Using the code simply won't work.

I never used the 10% off one in October, so I suppose they upped the ante.

What is bigcrumbs.com? Seems to be something about referral links to the site?

So, does that mean you went to live.com, put in a search term to get the 25% cash back link to ebay, then went to ebay via that link, then just typed in the big crumbs address to go there?

I may be an idiot for not being able to figure this out....

How does it work? I've gone to live, gotten the 25% cashback logo to appear, but then when I push the buy it now button, there's no logo anymore and nothing from eBay that says I'm going to be getting cash back.

Is it after you push the BIN button? Does it reappear after you push the commit to buy? I haven't pushed commit, because I don't want to screw up getting my discount.

When do I get the eBay message?

Another thing, how do you get eBay coupons? I have a 400 rating and I have never gotten anything from them.

In my experience, when the 25% banner is showing on EBay and I push the buy it now button, I get a "Review and Commit to Buy" page. On that page below your item and shipping prices and method of payment, there is a box which says "Microsoft Cashback 25%" and the exact dollar amount of the cashback".

Then, I click the "commit to buy" button. And all through the PayPal process, it will indicate the cashback amount also.

For your other question, I've never gotten a discount code e-mail from EBay either after all these years.

I think I've figured it out.

All the sellers I tried to buy from aren't working. You just have to look around, because other sellers do work. I don't know.

Also, I see that people with their own checkouts don't work, but that sucks, because I wanted to use it on a 10-pack cordless tool set for my dad for Christmas, which was $1K+.

Most pricey things over 500 have their own checkouts. I was going to pick up some gold or silver, but everyone's jacking up their prices due to the checkout and hoping to pocket the discount themselves. Dick sellers!

Dark Phoenix, I understand your frustration, but there are a lot of items that wouldnt be on ebay if they were not marking up to take advantage of the Live search. This is especially true of the low margin items. Ebay has raised its fee structure so much, it is difficult to sell certain items.

Man, that was a convoluted process, but I finally got it to work. Ordered the Moebius Gigantic Frankenstein kit and was even able to use eBay's 10% coupon. My final cost for this $90 item is $58.

I bought a few camera lenses. Some companies are idiots to use their own checkouts right now. Losing out on thousands of sales. I can think of 3 things I'd buy right now if the damn seller would use paypal checkout.

mmconhea,

The instant cashback is a headscratcher. I think it first appeared about a week ago. There is much discussion on it at slickdeals, but no one seems to be able to figure out a criteria which makes some of them instant and others the usual 60-day wait. Nobody's figured out any kind of price correlation, feedback of seller or buyer, etc. It may be a random thing -- I've never gotten instant yet.

It's only been 25% off for me... not 30% as the thread title suggests.

Made several cool purchases using the 25% cashback. My favorite deal though was a $500 bill for $480 after cashback Could take it to the bank and make $20. Or sell it to the local coin shop for at least $600 whenever...

It's back to 30% this morning as Al_Tahoe noted.

(Please check the bottom of the original post for updates on the percentage, which goes up and down. Thread titles can't be edited, so I thought it was the best way to note current percentages, rather than have multiple live.com threads as it changes.)

Can someone help me?

I bought an item from ebay and paid for it using paypal. I'm at the final checkout page on ebay which states "Thank you for your payment." There is also a "Get Cashback" button on this page. When I click it, I keep getting an error message:

We are having technical difficulties. please try again later!

I'm afraid to close this page, because I don't want to lose the cashback button. I sent an email to ebay but they haven't responded yet. Does anyone know if there is a phone number I can call?

Thanks.

I chatted with a rep on the Ebay Live Help and they were able to fix the problem. Phew!

This may sound stupid but can someone help me out?

I have a 15% coupon via Ebay and I'm trying to buy a receiver with it and the 30% Live deal. I am getting the checkout screen with the "commit to buy" button. There is no where to enter the coupon though!? I certainly don't want to click commit to buy unless I know I can enter the 15% coupon?

Any ideas? Thanks!
