Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)

Last week I got an issue of Esquire magazine. I had not ever requested/subscribed to it, so I was surprised to receive it. It wasn't looked upon all that favorably by my wife because of my stepson possibly seeing it. Since I had no interest in it, I had no problem inquiring about having it canceled.

It was then that I discovered that it came from the ending of publication for Computer Shopper. Apparently they converted subscriptions from the CS to Esquire, on a 1-issue to 3-issue basis. Thus, I ended up with a subscription to Esquire until Sept 2025!!!! That's 192 issues!

If only that had happened with a magazine I actually liked.

I am currently trying to get them to convert it (on some basis) to Popular Mechanics since they publish both.

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)

The Time Warner Friends and Family discounts are up: https://subs.timeinc.net/faf/ns.jhtml?source_id=efef79

No deals for EW.

My niece is selling subscriptions (among other stuff) for a school fundraiser so I went ahead and bought a year of EW from her for $20, which is significantly cheaper than the $33.55 renewal rate that they're offering me directly. For that price I can live with the dead period between when my current sub ends (this month) and when the new one will kick in (probably November or December).

The lesson: if there are kids in your family selling stuff for school, don't immediately turn them away.

I'm too new here to post links, but not very long ago I had a link to a Magazine Bonus Center deal for a year of EW, Time, Rolling Stone, etc. for $2. I sent the link to Chad, hoping it would go out to the group, but I was ignored. This group isn't very hospitable to newcomers, but I do appreciate all of the deals everybody posts.

I had a TV Guide special that was like $40 for 2 years. When that ran out I called them and haggled out an OK deal for 1 year, but did not renew after that I'm just using EW for $10 for 2 years.

My hint is call them if you are a member, they might help you some..

I regularly see TV Guide for under $15 a year advertised (side "banner" AD) on http://www.magazinepricesearch.com/

This site is a great resource for cheap subscriptions. I'll most likely be getting TVG soon as I've seen the price fluctuate between $13 to $40 for 50+ issues.

I found Game Informer here last year for around $5 (12 issues) and it's almost time to renew.

That Friends and family, I just signed up for EW through another 3rd party site at $10, the one that automatically renews at a higher rate if you dont cancel. If I sign up for 3 years will they add that to the end of my current sub or will I get 2 issues each week? Any ideas?

If you do get 2 issues, just contact teh publisher and tell them about the "error". They will combine the subscriptions and usually credit you for the "double" delivery. I have done that many times with freebies I have gotten here and never had a single problem.

Why not just post the link directly yourself? I would imagine that's allowed.

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)

Thanks for the free TOWN AND COUNTRY, first issue arrived yesterday.

I finally got approved for a freebizmag (TENNIS, of all things) but I decided to pass given I was not comfortable with giving them my specific work info like address, etc. Seems to me they want TMI for just a free magazine subscription.

No it is not, you have to have a certain number of posts before you can link.

Hey, I apologize for that. But I can assure you it wasn't intentional nor did it have anything to do with you being a new member. However the particular link you sent was questionable and received a BBB rating of "F":

I just forgot to reply back telling you that.

Yes, I added 3 more years to my EW subscription with it. After I got the confirmation email, I emailed the company and asked if they could stack the 3 years onto my current subscription. Within 24 hours, they repsonded that they could and did. They confirmed I was now subscribed into 2014!!!

What Job combination works for this? Anything? I've tried several, including real answers and answers that I thought might work, and every time I get to the second page, the Cosmo selection button is disabled.
