Black Friday: 11/24/06

Good luck to those who intend to fight the crowds. I will be sleeping in, but have fun fighting over the $99 plasma TV & $14 notebook computer at Wal-Mart.

Anybody here acually wake up early and deal with all the bullshit? I avoid all types of commerce like the plague on "Black Friday". Don't get me wrong, I'm as much a capitalist as the next guy, but for fuck's sake, it's just a holiday.

Please refer to it as Afro-American Friday you racist!

They really do have some good deals going though. If you are going to pick a day to brave the crowds and get all your shopping done it's the best day to do it - financially. Plus you'll get it all over with

I normally don't, but that Samsung 50" plasma at Circuit City for $1800 has me interested.

If you're looking for a plasma, I'd do BB and try to get a 42" Panny for $1000. Probably a better TV overall, just a bit smaller.

I love Black Friday. I've been out nearly every time for the last 10 years oh so.

And I pretty much buy stuff for myself anyway. Cheap DVDs, the fun of hanging out with friends in line, the rush of trying to get the good deals. And then sleeping away the afternoon on a pile of new electronics.

I can't wait.

That's kinda psycho if you ask me.

also try http://www.bfads.net and http://www.blackfriday.info (now that we are allowed to discuss BF, I can post the links to the sites...) the .info site arranges the sales by category, the .net has tons of ad scans, as well as a good 'shopping list' feature...

That's very Michael (Steve Carrel's character) from The Office, if you ask me.
