The worst part is that the non 3D steelbook version is sold out now too, at least online and around me.

Well, actually the worst part is the price, but the scarcity trumps that for now I guess.

That stinks, but either way I'm getting 3D something Tuesday...

The same 3D SteelBook will be released in the UK as a Zavvi exclusive on April 3rd. Zavvi also now has a U.S. branch that sells the same products. Moana is currently still available.

Hopefully the steelbooks are available to ship again or have a wider availability for in store pick up tomorrow. Both versions have been in store pick-up only for the past few days and no stores anywhere near me have any copies available for in-store pick-up.

These are becoming a hard to score as the Target DC Animated steelbooks with jacked up prices to boot.

I had to change a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'd be at my Best Buy when it opens tomorrow just to secure a steelbook - if in fact that get some copies.

Sadly, unlike Target, there are not any Best Buy stores within an acceptable distance for us to make it there on a weekday morning.

Tonight around 9 PM PT, go online and order it for in-store pick up. That almost always works.

Got my steelbook today too, mine has paint chips all over behind the J-card. Really bummed. Doubtful my local store will have a replacement.

see, this is why i'm glad i'm not fanatic anymore about the books. if i can get it easily and cheaply then that is it. in-store pickup preferred, but shipping just as fine. i can't even get there by open. i'm sure it will all work out and if not i'll just get the regular edition and be fine with that...

Re: Moana - 3/7/17

I missed the initial Best Buy steelbook listing and it's no longer available as an online purchase - hence why I had planned on going to Best Buy first thing, but as it turns out my friend who I promised I would take him out for a birthday meal decided on breakfast - ugh ... oh well ... there goes my plan ...

They'll be available online for purchase in the morning. I'm doing that for in-store pickup.

Re: Moana - 3/7/17

They're not showing as available to buy for in-store pick up yet, but I bet they will soon.

I got my copy. It really is a beautiful Steelbook , with MOANA stamped into the metal for a cool recessed effect.
Weirdly, I got only 200 Disney points for the 3D combo -- I got 250 last week for Dr Strange 3D combo.

I'm glad I don't care for hunting down steelbooks, looking forwad to getting the normal 2D release tomorrow.

Less than three in every store around me though. Kinda nervous about it.

And actually the store I ordered from isn't showing up anymore. Here's to hoping the employees don't screw up when they pull it.

The 2D version was still available for shipping a few minutes ago when I placed my order. Got the original Kong BD with the Skull Island movie cash as well.

For me, that sucks since I was hoping I'd get enough points for the Platinum VIP tour of the Walt Disney Studios. Moana will put me over the 20k mark. I'm kind of doubting I'll be able to get 5k points by November, which is when me and my family are going to LA for a week. So I need every point I can get.

Re: Moana - 3/7/17

so i was finally able to do in-store pickup for the 3D SteelBook™ at 6am this morning. just before work. glad i did! as it turns out my lunch break is around 10 and got there by opening. went to pickup station, waited a bit (longer than usual because no one there right at opening, i guess) got my book, cashier even said "oh man, i didn't know this came in a SteelBook™, i'm going to have to get me one of those."

then, went to browse a few minutes since i had the time. noticed only 1 SteelBook™ per version (3D & 2D). don't think anyone else was there to purchase, so i'm pretty sure my store got mine and 1 or 2 others...

nice looking book btw. didn't know the Moana title is embossed or carved out or whatever you call it. can't wait to see...

Re: Moana - 3/7/17

even if I hadn't preordered the steel earlier this morning, by the time I walked into the store (my breakfast ended early) just as it opened - they had one still in the front 'new release' stand.

My store had one 3D steelbook on the shelf when I walked in and zero when I walked out with it.

Somebody stole it?

No issue for me ordering a copy for in-store pickup. Had it by lunch time.

There's a 50 point bonus for Dr Strange on BD or Digital HD when redeemed before 04/30.

Mystery solved! Thanks.

My Best Buy manager said that they got two copies of the Steelbook. Weird that it was so limited. In any case it's a cool collectible. This serves as a reminder to preorder any Steelbook you may be interested in.
