I'm wary of preordering any Best Buy SteelBooks until they post final cover art. I don't want to get stuck with some Pop Art garbage.

Have the Pop Art designs been used for anything other than catalog releases? I can't recall any new releases being of the Pop Art variety.

I'm with you, although it's easy enough to cancel a pre-order. That's what I did when the final Logan art came out.

The cover art for "Logan" was created by Steve McNiven, Marvel artist for the "Old Man Logan" comic books series.



While you may not like the design, it's not one of the "Project Pop Art" releases.

I cancelled my Zavvi pre-order of the "Transformers" steelbooks. I may be wrong but I'm guessing these will be around a long time 'cause it is such a wide release. I think Zavvi will be trying to move 'em out at discount in short order. But I am gonna have a helluva time resisting the Alex Ross' Universal Monsters steelbooks that just went live!

I assume you meant "Transformers." Generally, I have found Zavvi releases to be superior. The artwork is the same but the Zavvi editions come with the slipcovers and probably some embossing...not sure if the Best Buy versions will include those features. I already own "Dark of the Moon" and "Age of Extinction" standard 3D/2D releases that have the lenticular slipcovers. The more I thought about it, the less I felt compelled to own the steelbooks unless I can get them on the cheap. I'll wait.

The Alex Ross "Universal Monsters" steelbooks are simply beautiful and would have been no-brainers if they were complete legacy collections. But I think I will skip 'em.

Jesus, I would love those, but can't justify the $$. Already have the box set and getting the Legacy as they come out.

I know this is kind of petty but the stupid Alex Ross signature on the cover kills the artwork for me.

It's a shame too, because the packaging in the box set is terrible for the discs (they get adhesive stuck on the edges) so I've been trying to figure out new storage for the discs.
