Yeah, same here. So going from $25 last season to $40 this season fucking sucks.

Y'all are right, sorry. I remembered that last season was more expensive. Don't know why I thought it was $39.

I don't keep the Digital Codes, so selling those off gets me to a price I'm very happy to pay for this set.

Man, I thought I'd look at BB today and see the SteelBook down to more reasonable $39.99, like the regular edition. Jacked it up to $49.99. The fuck?

Wait a few months, they'll drop it to $39.99 like the other season steelbooks.

I was gonna get the amazon-UK exclusive with the bonus disc, but it only has one more extra than the Target bonus disc, so it's not worth the extra money/shipping. The other years, the UK bonus disc had all the extra material from all the US retailers. Seems like there's less extras this go around.

I think the key is this time around (unless I missed one) it seems like Target is the only one with a bonus feature. Could have a lot to do with why Target's version is $5 more this time with no gift card pre-order deal. Still think I'm going to head there tomorrow to pick one up at Target. If there are still a bunch around with the bonus during BF I can always return the higher priced one.

Re: Game of Thrones -- The Complete Sixth Season -- 11/15/16

picked up the SteelBook™ at lunch for this. very nice, though i don't know what to do with the silly magnet. i just put it inside the steel case. hope it doesn't erase the discs. it does save shelf space so hopefully get the upcoming seasons on it as well. it does look a little odd with the regular versions of the previous seasons, but oh well...

Why go for the steelbook when you have the standard sets for seasons 1-4?

Re: Game of Thrones -- The Complete Sixth Season -- 11/15/16

I picked up the Target version today. With the return window extended through January, I'm hoping it drops in price at some point.

I feel bad for the folks that have been collecting the Best Buy exclusives up to this point, that sucks.

Picked up the Target exclusive. Like the Lenticular cover - that was a cool little surprise. Wish it were a little cheaper though.

Magnets won't harm blu-rays or DVDs. They are only a danger to magnetic media like hard drives, floppy discs, and tapes. Flash and SSD drives are also immune to the effects of magnets.

Re: Game of Thrones -- The Complete Sixth Season -- 11/15/16

I actually ordered the UK set and it's going to be less than buying it here (about $41 shipped with CC foreign exchange fee) than it would be buying it here (about $42 with sales tax). However, no digital copies, which I don't care about and would not even bother taking the time to try to sell.

Target's bonus disk is Inside The Fight for Meereen and WM's is Bigger than Reality: Creating the Visual Effects and those are both on the Amazon UK bonus disc.

Aren’t there only two US retailer bonus features anyway? Or am I missing something?

Is it just me, or doe this GoT set feel cheaper than previous ones? It has less extras, packaging feels cheap, with the discs staggered on top of each other, no inserts/episode guide and it's sale price isn't as low as it usually is.

Re: Game of Thrones -- The Complete Sixth Season -- 11/15/16

Maybe they rushed it into production and didn't have the time to make better special features and design a nicer package. It's only been about six months since season five came out, so this one is really early.

If they re-release another version right before season 7 with more extras, I'm going to be pissed.

Re: Game of Thrones -- The Complete Sixth Season -- 11/15/16

They'll release the complete series, which I'm guessing will contain an extras disc at the very least. But with their most successful show of all time (at least until Westworld possibly takes that accolade), they'll make sure to release a big set for it.
