Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director's Cut - 6/7/16
From blu-ray.com:
Paramount Home Media Distribution has announced that it will release on Blu-ray Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director's Cut. The release will be available for purchase on June 7.
Synopsis: "Admiral" James T. Kirk begrudgingly embarks on a cadet cruise in the newly christened Starfleet Academy training starship, the USS Enterprise. Then his whole world is really turned upside down when he crosses paths with his old nemesis – Khan Noonien Singh! After 15 grueling years of being exiled on the planet Ceti Alpha V, Khan and his followers have escaped by hijacking a starship. Even worse Khan has discovered the plans for testing the planet reconfiguring "Genesis Device." During the ensuing battle, both starships are crippled. However Khan is able to locate and steal the device to use it as a weapon. Their cat and mouse game eventually turns deadly for both ships. Revenge minded Kahn is more than ready to sacrifice everything. Kirk isn't and he desperately tries to save his ship. The fatal solution will cost him more than he's ever had to pay before, his friend!

To confirm, this has everything the previous Blu-ray release from the collection has? If so, I will also buy this. It would be nice to get the director's cut of The Undiscovered Country while they're at it.

I so wish I didn't break down and buy that ST movies blu-ray box set.
Details of the extras per the Digital Bits:
The set will also include a brand new 30-minute documentary on the making of the film, called The Genesis Effect: Engineering The Wrath of Khan. Beyond that, it appears that all of the legacy special features will carry over too, including audio commentary by Meyer (on both versions), a second commentary by Meyer and Manny Coto (on the theatrical version), text commentary by Michael and Denise Okuda (on the Director’s Cut), the Library Computer feature (on the theatrical version), 4 Production featurettes (including Captain’s Log, Designing Khan, Original Interviews with DeForest Kelley, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and Ricardo Montalban, Where No Man Has Gone Before: The Visual Effects of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and James Horner: Composing Genesis), 3 The Star Trek Universe featurettes (includes Collecting Star Trek’s Movie Relics, A Novel Approach, and Starfleet Academy: The Mystery Behind Ceti Alpha VI), A Tribute to Ricardo Montalban, a storyboard gallery, and the film’s theatrical trailer. What’s more, the packaging’s cover will feature Tyler Stout’s Mondo poster artwork for the film. You can see it at left there and below. There’s no word yet on the expected 4K Ultra HD release of the film, though sources tell us that it’s possible for release later this year.

That's some ugly ass Mondo artwork or whatever it's supposed to be. I'll probably pick this up, and find some good custom artwork.

It would be cool if they included the deleted scenes that feature Saavik being referred to as half-Romulan (among others):
It would be even *more* cool if we could get ALL 10 movies with a 4K scan.

Call me crazy, but I kind of wish they'd go full retro and use that crazy photo collage from the VHS!

I already have two copies of the other cut: The Stardate Collection, and the only single ST movie BD I bought.

I'll get this. Wonder if we'll get the director's cuts of The Motion Picture and The Undiscovered Country too.

Me too. Despite the beyond hideous artwork, I will get this to replace my double disc dvd release.

The cover art sort of looks like a Mondo design. Not terrible but a bit too busy for my tastes.

I liked the covers for the old two disc DVDs. The ones with the silver border and the theatrical poster in the center.

Artwork reminds me of the Trek comics from the late 80's early 90s.
Not sure about getting this, the whole lot of them need re-doing (and I'd pay good money for a restored copy of the Special Longer Version of TMP) but that is a nice looking set.
