Annoying that the 4k version doesn't have the extended on regular blu-ray. I'd like to future proof, but that's making it hard to do.

Although it does have the digital copies..............

Looks like I'll get the Target edition to match my Man of Steel. Looks like this is just upgraded packaging, I think MoS had some exclusive bonus features on it.

Wonder if Target will be doing these digibooks for all of the DCEU films, like Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Jusrice League.

The Ultimate Edition—which features 30 minutes of new footage incorporated into an extended, R-rated cut of the film—will be available early on Digital HD on June 28th along with the theatrical version of the movie, and both will be available to purchase on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 19th.

Kind of funny that Wonder Woman is standing up front on that cover.

So the 4k disc will not have both theatrical and extended? Lame.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

This will likely end up just being a rental for me just to see how the extended cut plays out. I don't see myself buying it unless its cheap or there are some worthwhile extras.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

Giles posted the extras on post #69. But really, I was the same way, I'd pick this up if the extras were worthwhile, but then I realized I didn't get any value out of the movie itself, so the extras aren't all that interesting to me. Maybe the extended cut will be interesting, but at this point, I'll wait for the cheap. I'm only really interested in the 4k for the sound now.

I don't remember. I've been buying directly from VUDU and have altogether bypassed certain hard copy titles. For example: London Has Fallen and 13 Clovefield Lane were released this past Tuesday but I don't know if you buy the BD through Wal-Mart whether you get the Digital Copy early.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

So far the only 3D title to include two versions in 3D was "One Direction: This Is Us" and that was shown in theaters both ways in 3D. (As a 3D title it's rather marginal as only the concert scenes are in 3D, and the rest is in 2D.) I thought they were going to release the extended version of Batman Vs. Superman in theaters but I guess that didn't happen.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

This was post-converted, right? I assume the EC scenes were never converted, hence the reason there's no 3D for the extended cut.

Snyder still shoots 35mm, so it'd have to be a post-conversion.

appreciate this info giles,

sorry for the noob question but can i watch the 2d extended cut bluray disc from that set on my u.s. ps4? (and later the uhd disc once i have a player?)

since this seems to be the only way to get the longer version of the movie in both 4k and regular bluray, i am going to compare import prices with buying multiple separate editions (in case i can future-proof now for less \ get more supplements).

that is of course if the movie and bonus features can be watched in english without any subtitles on. thanks

Why are they the same region as we are, as opposed to the rest of Asia? I've never quite understood.

It's an interesting question but I suspect it's because Japan is the only Asian country that respects copyright protections. The other Asian countries are largely lawless in that regard, rife with bootlegs of Hollywood product.

You have to remember that Sony had a huge hand in formulating Blu-ray as a format. They had wanted the entire world to be one region. It was the other Blu-ray studios that wanted region-locking.
