Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Hey, did anyone get this?

I was going to...but forgot. The new transfers look good. Starting to kick myself for not buying this, but I'm hoping these new transfers will come out separately.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

The set is region B, right? Hopefully the transfers make it to the US properly.

I thought it was announced they would be released separately but without all the physical extras and the documentary.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Yep, it's Region B. Arrow mentioned that sets will start shipping this week. I ordered one from Amazon UK. Looking forward to this set.

I wasn't aware of that.

At that price, I hope you get a spoon and knife as well.

I read it on the BD.com forum as well as the Criterion one.

The 'Leviathan' Documentary in the Scarlet Box is also a LOT shorter than the Documentary actually runs on the (non-Arrow) DVD release.

From everything I have read, everyone who has seen Leviathan seems to be happy with a shortened version. I haven't seen it yet but from what I have seen, Leviathan was so bloated that it made the documentary as whole dull and meandering. Anyone here seen the whole thing?

I had thought about buying Leviathan but decided to wait until after I see what is on this box.

This is what I heard from many, many people as well on the horror blu group I'm in on FB. I pre-ordered it, hopefully it will come soon. I'm pretty excited. This set is actually what made me go region free.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Just got my ship notice. But should be expecting it in about 3 weeks?! Hopefully it'll be sooner. I usually get deliveries about 7 days from when they ship.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

I don't have that box set but I do have the UK DVD box set, also in a Lemarchand Configuration box, which has the first three movies and IIRC Barker's short films before Hellraiser.

I have an extra one of those sets (still sealed), I've had since '09, that I should sell on eBay. I wonder what it's worth these days?

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

About $60-70 according to the ones sold on EBay. I got the new set for $56 and change. I'm happy with that.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Well, I just found out on Amazon's UK site that the Scarlet Box is available for around $59, so I jumped on that like Jared on a...carousel.

Damn, that price skyrocketed. I'll assume it sold out rather quick.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Arrow just announced a new box set that contains the three films and doesn't include the bonus disc or book.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

So I take it the scarlet box was limited and is already sold out? I didn't realize it was going to be limited.

Yeah. It was always mentioned that it was limited to 5000 copies.

Damn, that is a pretty set. I am ready for mine to get here!

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Even though the discs are Region B, all discs and features still play on my U.S. Panasonic player using the "stop' stop, top menu" trick.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

Well, that's because you have a region free player. Pretty much like all of us who bought this or are interested. It is really Region B, so it won't work in a regular player.

Re: Hellraiser Scarlet Box

one of the corners got a little banged up on my way to me [whaa-whaa "pity party"] but wow - what a box set - can't wait to hear the commentary track for Hellbound.
