I suppose those who have not yet seen Season 5 and buy the Target version are in for .... less of a surprise at the end of the "Hardhome" episode.

For those interested, or have already ordered from Amazon UK, here's a promo that might help to pay for that edition. it sounds like it might not work for everyone, but hopefully should help some people.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/b?_encoding...5A1OLE&pf_rd_s
A couple of points:
- I gave the gc to myself, and while the "order" e-mail came through fine. The "gift" e-mail with the code and link went straight to spam.
- Only the e-mailable Gift Cards worked for me. Example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014JBPC7G/
Still, this was a nice way to get a "free" £7. And I hadn't yet paid for my recent order (including GoT) with the £10 promo, so it was easy enough to apply the £30 to that.
Buy £30 in Amazon.co.uk Gift Cards, Get a £7 promo code to spend at Amazon.co.uk
Enjoy this EXCLUSIVE offer: Click the button 'Click to qualify for the promotion code' below, and then purchase at least £30 in Amazon.co.uk Gift Cards in a single order on Amazon.co.uk by 27 February, 2016.
We'll e-mail you a £7 promotional code within 48 hours of your gift card order being dispatched.
The £7 promotional code can be spent on products sold by Amazon on Amazon.co.uk until 16 April, 2016. Read the Terms and Conditions of the Promotion for more details.

Not really familiar with ordering for anything other than Amazon US. How are the Amazon UK prices comparing to US release prices given we have to pay for shipping? Having all the exclusives on one shot would be great but not if it's like considerably more than one of the exclusive versions at BB or Target during release week.

Re: Game of Thrones: The Complete Fifth Season - 3/15/16
4 factors with the pricing are:
1) This is a pre-order, so the price could go down. Or not. It did less than a £1 when I did this last Season.
2) The exchange rate will fluctuate, so it may be less, or more, by the time the order processes and ships (unless you decide to lock in with a gc, which may turn out good or bad, depending on how the $ and £ do.
3) VAT will be taken out for our final product total, so the actual price is only 80% of the one advertised (currently £24.99 instead of £29.99 after VAT).
4) Depending on your payment method, you might be hit with exchange rate fees. hariseldon posted a lot about currency exchange elsewhere, but it seems that a currency exchange free card, and checking out and saying that your card is in British pounds when you checkout eliminates them (but that's only if you have Capital One, or another card that is currency exchange free). If you don't, then he still suggests checking out with another card and saying it's in British Pounds, as most card's seem to charge less than the percent Amazon does for converting it themselves (4% I believe).
Right now (with free currency exchange), the shipping shows up for me at $4.39, with $35.60 for the set, without any exchange rate fees. So $39.99 total, which is a little more than a US release will probably be, but not a lot more, especially with no sales tax (if applicable [but 9% or more tax for me]). Ordering like this also avoids the possible hassle of tracking down a retailer exclusive on release date.
For me, this makes a ton of sense, as I would be stupid enough to buy all 3 retailer exclusives without it, which would likely be over $100. And the new gc promo is just free money that I know I can spend on a non-US release.
I think that covers everything. If you do order from Amazon UK, and it's the first time, then know that you're already a member there, as your account, password, address info and most everything else automatically transfers (I made the mistake of trying to set up a new account the first time I ordered). Two things that don't are any gc or credit balance, so no buying gc's here and using them there, or using the £7 promo code at Amazon US and also a Discover card, if you have one, which isn't accepted by the UK version.

Remember of course that you won't get a digital copy with the UK version and that if you don't want a digital copy, you could probably sell it here for $10.

In the U.S. "The Final Step" Bonus Feature appears to be on it's own disc (unclear on whether it's BD or DVD) for the Barnes & Noble* Exclusive release:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dvd-...eason/29147583
So it would appear that WM or BB will have the Visual Effects of Season 5 segment. As before, the Amazon UK edition with exclusive Bonus Disc contains all 3 of these segments.
* Yeah, I didn't guess that B&N would be the one to score this either.

That Amazon.co.uk set is looking better and better.

I'm holding off until the remaining season(s) are released with the Atmos track. After hearing season 1 like that, I'm way less interested in the extras now.

That is good news. Still waiting for Season 3 steelbook/Atmos edition to go up for sale. I'll be buying 3 and 4 as soon as I can. I'm now on season 2 and really, these can't sound any better than this. All the more head scratching why 4k discs exist without Atmos or DTS-X included.

I know, that's who I was referring to, Fox. But I tell you, listening to Atmos at home is a pretty incredible experience. I know most people don't have it, and I have never personally never been to an Atmos theater (6 Drafthouse theaters alone and zero Atmos), but it's really the way people with home theaters should listen to movies. I guess that's why I'm pissed that the next gen format isn't making it standard to have next gen sound.

The Target exclusive is now down to $34.99 and still comes with a $10 gift card. I canceled and placed a new order.

Grrrr ... just saw this. Shows $34.99 on the item page but $39.99 in my cart and checkout.
I ordered anyway and filled out the form to contact them. Would be nice to get the $5 back, but not holding my breath.
