That depends, I guess. I haven't read any of those critic's reviews but if there are any dissenting opinions it could make for a lively commentary. But if all those reviewers gave the film glowing reviews it'll just be a bunch of people jerking themselves off over it.
Either way, I'll probably end up picking this up. I was all set to watch this On-Demand and then the dates got all screwed up so I never did get around to seeing it. It'll be a blind buy for me.

I'm interested in seeing this and will consider giving it a blind buy. However the last horror film that was highly praised that I picked up was The Babadook which I didn't care for at all.

I would not blind buy this, its a horror movie in a sense it relies more on tension, and the soundtrack is really good. Very 80s type of score. Might pick it up if the price is right.

The depressing tale of the wanton and carefree teenage years I apparently missed that every movie depicts aside , I'm interested in this predominantly because it was shot locally and the director is from my home state. It got critical raves, so that's also interesting too . I skipped it at the multiplex, I'll just get the BD from Redbox. My, how I've changed. I'd have been chomping at the bit to see it once upon a time. What happened to me, I wonder.
A critics' commentary? Who's idea was that? A studio put up money for that? That's weird. Sounds like with that many, it'd just become ego-stroking pretty quickly. I can't imagine that that's the kind of thing 99% of people would be interested in.
How about a commentary from, I don't know, the director?
Pretty sparse extras. Understand that this is very much a John Carpenter 1980s-style horror riff with a bit a genre-tweaking postmodern bent and cool soundtrack. Could be interesting, but probably not something I'd blind buy. I guess that the director did and AMA on Reddit.
Charming cover, I'd have to imagine that the marketing department out that one together.
For a pretty much unknown director, his name is in big bold letters on the front.

"Making this movie was a great experience. We all had so much fun working together. Everybody was so talented. That's my second-cousin's best friend's wife in the background of the scene over there..."

There, I just gave you your director's commentary.

I remember the Matrix Ultimate set having critics commentary, from those that DIDN'T like the films. They were alright. I tolerated them only once. Interesting to see WHY they didn't like it but it was boring to me.

Ditto!
I didn't care for The Babadook either, but this movie's an entirely different animal. It's not so much scary as it is unsettling (but there are a couple of very nice jolts to the nervous system), and I found that I enjoyed it even more on a second viewing.
Thanks for letting us know, Gryff--I'm placing my pre-order right now.

It's a much more traditional horror flick than The Babadook. I liked how dreamlike the movie is and how dreamlike it makes Detroit.
In a lot of ways, it's like The Virgin Suicides with an unstoppable evil.

I understand it's sort of a metaphor for the transience of youth. Though that might dig me deeper king my depression hole, I really want to see this, if only because it was shot locally by a hometown boy. And got great reviews. But July 14 is a ways away, and it'll probably not be in the Redbox for another month. I guess I need things to look forward to.
It was Maika Monroe's birthday last week.

Naw, it won't. It plays like a nightmare anyone would be glad to not be a part of.

That's a hell of a deal. I wonder what we'll price it at at work if we even get it. Might be worth a blind buy. At least if I stop posting after it comes out, you'll all know why.

Re: It Follows -- July 14th, 2015
It Follows has a thin plot, and even though it is only 100 minutes long, it drags at the end. Everything interesting happens in the first half hour, and the next hour is repetition.
