Target is going back to the book-style packaging?

I don't think they did one of these for Shazam, did they?

Or Joker, but that isn't part of same DCEU continuity -- if such a thing still exists at this point.

I saw this thread and wondered if Harley was already hitting home video, then I realized it hasn't even hit theaters.

I actually found this fairly decent. I won’t pay full price for it but once it hits around $15 I’ll grab it.

I can't believe Target printed "This is a live-action movie" on their hype sticker for the exclusive. I guess they thought customers would confuse it with their steelbook line of animated DC films.

Re: BIRDS OF PREY: and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

I've been buying all of the Target digibook versions of the DCEU movies... Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman ... but I think I'll pass on this one.

Since Warners has abandoned any concept of a coherent superhero universe with their DC properties after they shit the bed with Justice League, these digibooks have lost their appeal for me. Really a shame because they were nice packages.

Might even end up eBaying the ones I have.

Initially I couldn't decide whether to go with the standard BD or the 4K UHD with this one.

Ended up picking up the 4K UHD.

Normally, I don't care about Slipcovers but both the standard & 4K releases have really fantastic ones.

this was just such a terrible movie. i'm sorry guys, but if some are buying as blind and still wrapped, i would return. it was just lifeless and dull (despite the premise and promise)...

A friend said that the Atmos soundtrack is really low - like they took a page from the Disney playbook. That the digital HD has a much better sounding Atmos soundtrack.

I wonder why. I’ve never heard of a company release different audio (especially Atmos) on separate formats before.

Don't know the deal, but I have a couple of Disney films via iTunes/Vudu and even the stuff on Disney+ -- they all sound better than their disc counterparts. Even the MCU stuff via digital HD stuff sounds much better.

It looks like there may have been production problems with the steelbooks. Basically nothing went to stores, beyond fulfilling preorders for in-store pickup. Lotsa emails went out about delays, although some of those same folks on Facebook also report getting shipping notifications afterwards. Orders are back up on bestbuy.com but for mid-June delivery. And my steelbook is, alas, in limbo. (The status changed to “Preparing” yesterday afternoon but switched to “Shipment Delayed”, where it’s been ever since, so...who knows?)

I read a post over at Blu-Ray.com from a member who works at Best Buy.

He stated that usually they get 20-30 boxes for new releases but in this case, maybe 2 instead.

Mentioned that his store only got 4 Steelbooks and 3 of the 4K UHDs, no standard BDs.

I kind of like Target’s exclusive artwork for the slipcover/case. Still though even though I didn’t mind the movie it’s not one that I need to buy at full price exclusive cover or not. I’ll grab it on 4K when it goes on sale at some point.

For anyone after the Best Buy 4K Steelbook, the shipping date was moved up to 5/18/20.

Currently available for order on their site.

Oh, that's great to hear! It was still saying June 18th earlier this morning. So maybe they won't cancel my preorder after all.

Shipped, but “We've incorrectly sorted this package which may cause a delay.” Hopefully it won’t get too banged up along the way.

Edit! Got it on 5/14 in terrific condition.
