It has a limited release at some other chains too. I discovered by accident it's playing one theater in AZ. WB has done no promotion on this theatrical release whatsoever.

Moviefone has a list of 31 US theaters it's playing at this week: https://www.moviefone.com/movie/mad-...655/showtimes/

Or you can see if it's playing at a local theater here: http://www.fandango.com/madmax:furyr...611/movietimes

I plan to see it this week, even if I'm the only person who knows it's playing in Phoenix!

Thanks. I emailed Warner Bros last Thursday asking if they had a list of theaters, noting that I could find absolutely no PR and no mention of this on the official website or FB page. So far they haven't responded. I've never spent so much time searching for a theater list! Even most ltd release indie flicks have showdates listed by the distributor.

It's crazy how little they care.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

Looks like the new version is worth checking out. I have the steelbook and 3D version, so I'll probably pick it up down the line once it's on sale.

Best Buy doesn't look to be carrying this in-store (8-Digit-SKU) and Walmart only had the High-Octane Collection on DVD.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

I went to four smaller local stores over the weekend. Found a single copy (which I bought).

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

I have the Fury Road steelbook (which was expensive as hell) and the old tin. I wonder if the high-octane set is worth it?

Figures I didn't hear about the theatrical re-release .

An even bigger drop, this time down to $9.75 on Amazon. I was able to price match on Target.com. I can live with $9.53 shipped. Now I have three versions of this freaking movie

The B&W version of MM doesn't hold a candle to Logan's Noir.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

Other way around. Didn't care for the Logan Noir at all. And was Logan filmed with B&W in mind? FR was, and it shows.

Well shit, hopefully it isn't a wasted purchase. I didn't watch Logan Noir all the way though, just skipped around, so I was hoping it was similar to that.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

Just read this, and the Logan Noir is "for the fans". George Miller expressively stated he conceived and filmed Fury Road with the intention of releasing it in black and white. Which means the shots, lighting, etc were done from that standpoint. Doesn't sound like Logan was.

http://www.gq.com/story/logan-noir-m...feel-old-again

"Director James Mangold was adamant this is not his planned version of the film from the beginning. "If I said it was my preferred version, my production designer would faint, all that work out the window." It is true, especially in the final act when the SFX start ramping up and the verdant forests of North Dakota come into play, that you start to wish they'd perhaps switched to color for the final few key sequences. (Those blood splatters sure do look good in deep, deep gray, though.)"

"This came from the fans," Mangold said of Noir, which was inspired by public response to his black-and-white photos from the set during filming. Jackman himself also revealed he had run into Stephen Colbert the day previous, who admitted to having seen Logan three times, and crying at each and every viewing."

Seems to me they tried to ride the Fury Road aspect, considering the fans loved the B&W version.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

^ thanks for reminding me that I still need to watch my copy of Logan.

Also... I REALLY want the Black & Chrome edition of Mad Max: Fury Road... but I can't justify the double dip unless it comes out in UHD.

Uh, is that legit? Still, still not as bad as all that PopArt/Mondo garbage.

Nevermind, it’s as bad as those.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

I can only imagine that it's part of some series of alt covers with gaming cabinets on them (probably to promote Ready Player One... ugh) but... seriously... that's some hot smelly garbage right there.

Probably... doesn't Mad Nax's car appear in the movie?

They'll probably issue covers like that for the movies that are referenced in RPO.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

So I am really confused here. I definitely own a digital copy of this movie. Unlike many alternative versions of movies available on Movies Anywhere, the Black and Chrome edition of this movie is considered a separate release and not included as a Special Feature of the original version. That said, Amazon Prime thinks that I already own the B&C version. Movies Anywhere and VUDU do not. Very weird.

I got Fury Road via Instawatch and none of the vendors thinks I own Black & Chrome.
