And of course, no 3D included in the BB exclusive.

So it'll be $5 cheaper, sounds good.

If you don't have a Dolby Atmos receiver, the disc will play back in Dolby TrueHD 7.1.

A royal screwup all around. And the Silent Space extra was discussed well before the first release.

This basically means if Warner decides to release a Luxe edition to Fury Road, expect it to be just as much a letdown as Gravity. Neither release will be an all-encompassing one.
From what I read, the Diamond Luxe release excludes the 3D presentation altogether.

According to this week's ad, you can preorder it for $19.99 starting 8/11/15 and get instant access to a Digital HD copy.
Man I wish their exclusive had a 3D disc. It's not like I have to have all my movies in 3D, but this one was truly spectacular in 3D and I'd hate to pass up the demo material on that disc. It's still showing at full price ($34.99) on the BB website.

This is still at my local theater. I think this week is my last shot to catch it.

No biggie. It's available en mass in the store. You pick up a slip, bring it to the register, pay $19.99 + tax and you get a receipt to return with later and they hold the steelie for you for a couple of weeks in the back for you to pick up. They also give you a code for a HD Digital UV copy you can redeem immediately. Really nice deal.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

oh man, funny story with these steels today...went in just at opening, maybe a few seconds after. had my preorder in so i wasn't worried about getting one, but man was someone else...

before i picked it up i went to the shelf just to see if there was any there and to check it out in person and then i heard such a commotion by the checkout line. it seems a reseller had gotten all the steels that were put out. a mom and what i think was her 18 or so old son was yelling at the reseller, saying there were no more on the shelves and he should be ashamed and all that and then got management and all in a huff started arguing and saying this wasn't fair, they were there at opening, etc...

but, i guess a manager found more and brought them out and all was good. but, just thought that was a funny story to share...

I still need to swing by later today to grab my preorder. I figured they would have extras on hand, but I didn't want to chance it.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

One of my buddies got there when it opened and some guy ran to the shelf and grabbed all 10 Steels. He called him out saying it was bullshit, and he put one back and my buddy got one, but what horseshit. You'd think employees would do a better job at the register limiting how many copies you're allowed to purchase.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

I got there right as they opened because of this crap (preorders sold out online)... I wasn't the only one as 3 or 4 of us grabbed (1 each) a steelbook. They need to put a limit of 2 or 3 on the limited edition/only at BB versions. All the ad says now is management reserves the right to limit quantities/no dealers.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

Some dude grabbed 5 of them in front of me at opening and they were all gone. I was like, WTF, he handed me 1 and said, enjoy. I thanked him and let him cut in front of me in line. Walked out with my steelo.
