WOW! Cyborg 2087. Never had a video release. Terminator owes a lot to this. Michael Rennie as cyborg who travels back in time to kill scientist who pioneered the technology. He's being pursued by two "terminator" (yes that's what they're called) model cyborgs trying to stop him.

DIMENSION 5. This has been available for years from Sinister Cinema. Made during the 60s spy craze. Jeffrey Hunter is an American agent with a device that allows him to time jump. Harold Sakata(Oddjob) is the villain.

WOW!

For all the 437 people who looked at my WTB: Rawhead Rex thread in the DVD Exchange forum, it's getting the Kino Lorber treatment in time for Halloween...

Kino Lorber is releasing this early 80's Kung Fu comedy.

I vaguely recall seeing this on video store shelves back in the 80's. But, I never saw it. Any seen it?

Here's the trailer, It looks like a typical early 80's screwball comedy

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

If the trailer appeals in any way, the film probably will too. I remember the TV spots for this from my youth and being curious, but it never made it to my area. Finally saw it just last year when I got a used DVD in a going-out-of-business sale at one of the last mondo-style video stores here. Everything about it is pretty schtick-y and on-the-nose, and it's relatively light on action compared to the movies it's sending up, but it's amiable throughout and fairly progressive-minded and tongue-in-cheek about ethnic stereotypes. The "anniversary edition" DVD was pretty sad, so hopefully they've improved on the picture quality and added some extras for this release. Johnny Yune is still around, albeit in Korea now, but it would be cool if they tracked him down to participate. This movie and it's sequel are his legacy, for better or worse.

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

I can't say I'm surprised that Kino's Krakatoa - East of Java is from 35mm reduction elements, but I can say it's a shame.
This Super Panavision film does not have the reputation to warrant a full restoration from the original elements in this age of film history restorations being priced right out of existence, which leads me to wonder if they even still exist in a usable state.
Still, I will take the 35mm reduction.

In fact, if you read Kino's press release for Krakatoa, and Custer of the West, they don't even mention a re-master at all, so they will both probably be DVD era masters stuck on a Blu-ray.

i'm beginning to love my KL collection. they have these movies that were (at least some) little seen, but oh so good. to have Diggstown (though weak extras) is my highlight...

The Vikings is one of the best looking catalog transfers they've released.

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

Code of Silence, which I think is one of Chuck Norris' best movies, is coming to BD December 5th.

It has lots of extras, but no Chuck. Chuck has declined to participate in any extras for his movies.

Special Features:
• Audio commentary by director Andrew Davis
• Interview with screenwriter Michael Butler
• Interview with actor Ron Dean
• Interview with actress Molly Hagen
• Interview with composer David Michael Frank
• Original Theatrcial Trailer

They said on their FB page if this sells well, they will do one for Lone Wolf McQuade.

Eh, without his participation can't say I'll upgrade my current MGM BD.

Noticed this Amazon listing for Kino's new Blu-Ray of Bava's KILL BABY, KILL, coming October 10. Curious to see how it stacks up against Arrow's upcoming U.K. edition and the earlier German release, at least bonus-wise.:

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

I have to revise my earlier comments about Kino's Krakatoa and Custer BD releases after seeing the screen captures for both at DVD Beaver. These are no Hawaii from Twilight Time level of DVD muddiness. Both look excellent and detailed, which leaves me somewhat surprised. Both are on their way to me.
