Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

It's on target.com now for in store pickup. I was surprised to find that there are a couple of stores that are 15 miles away that still have it. Of course, in this area that means there are dozens of stores that are long out of stock.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

In case anyone was wondering what it looks like, the Steelbook is identical to the UK Zavvi one that sold out long ago (though sadly without the 3D disc of course):

I don't think there's a UK release date yet.

If anyone here has an extra copy of the Big Hero 6 Steelbook that they want to trade for a sealed copy of the Mondo Future Shop DRIVE Steelbook - send me a PM. Target going out of business up here means we don't get the Steelbook in Canada!

Damn Target! They really need to limit these to 1 a person. By the time I showed up they were all gone. Search Ebay and a shit load come up for sale. Search Target.com for availability in my area and nobody has it in stock.

Checked out a couple of stores today. I found 0 at one and about a half dozen at the other. I passed since I have the 3D steelbook from zavvi on order.

Even though I already have my Amazon copy, I went to Target last night and didn't see any Steelbooks. These releases seem more and more limited these days. I swear there used to be no problems getting these special editions.

Bought the hologram cover from Best Buy last night for $19.99 + tax

Sold the Digitial HD code for $5 last night as well. Came out a win-win for me. $16.79 total after tax including selling off the Digital code.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

Went ahead and bought a steel book for $18.99 (yay Redcard). I'll sell it off when I get my Zaavi. I really want to see it now. So is the steelbook already a hot commodity? There were 10 copies when I bought mine, and I just bought it today, 2 days after its release.

Funny how that works, the ones that want it can't get it. The ones that don't want it can get it.

All of Denver area stores is sold out. One store I called said she has been getting calls all morning for it yesterday.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

So my son and I sat down to watch that Walmart bonus disc that I paid an extra $6 to get over the base edition. The main part "The Science Behind Big Hero 6" last exactly 5:30. Yep, that's it. There are also three exclusive deleted scenes with intros that run an additional 4 or 5 minutes in total. And that's it. I feel like complaining to Walmart. It may not be false advertising per say, but when you bundle the Blu Ray side-by-side with a Bonus DVD in an elaborate DVD case and call it a Gift Pack and charge a higher MSRP, most consumers kind of assume that they'll be getting more than ten minutes of additional content.

Randomly found a single copy of the Target Steelbook while out running errands today. Price-matched their site and picked it up for $24.99.

Damn...you got lucky. I did a search of the entire bay area the day after release and Target.com said all the stores were sold out.

I'm one of those that has to have the 3D version if it's available, so I preordered the French steelbook for $35 shipped. Have to wait a month but the 3D is worth it.

Probably a one-off return by some parent that didn't realize how much it's worth. I've found one-off return copies of Target exclusives mixed in the stock months after they would have been sold otherwise

Yeah, but it's not a steelbook. This way I fulfill both my wants.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

Any news on the UK release date yet? I have the Zavvi steelbook ordered so I didn't pick it up domestically and the family is getting antsy to see it.

Slightly OT, I saw that Zavvi released a steelbook of Ratatouille 3D that has already sold out and I have the Frozen 3D SB; what other 3D did Disney release in Europe but not the US? I know of Maleficent (no Zavvi SB for that one, right?), any others?

Holy shit, I had no idea?! I would have bought that had I known they were going to release it. Amazon UK doesn't even have a 3D version. Though I know France had a nice set.

Didn't know Pixar made a 3D render of Ratatouille.

As mentioned above, France has it along with a couple of other countries. But to my knowledge, most if not all, are Region B.
