EXODUS -GODS AND KINGS: 4 hour version...
Red-Carpet.de: "Exodus - Gods and Kings" takes about two and a half hours. Will there be a longer version for home theater?
Ridley Scott: We expect to publish an approximately four-hour version on DVD. But the theatrical version is already correct.

Charles de Lauzirika posted a picture of himself on the set on Facebook recently, so I'm assuming he's doing another doc. Which if that's the case, we can look forward to a 3-4 hour documentary.

And if we get a feature length Charles de Lauzirika behind the scenes documentary that's just icing on the cake!

Hopefully it's more Kingdom of Heaven and less Gladiator but either way I'll buy the extended version. Ridley Scott is usually pretty reliable when it comes to extended/Director's Cuts.

Not sure how this flick could get better w/ an extended cut. What we had there still seemed flaw.

I'm not sure, but I think they're using the term "DVD" in a generic sense, as if it were a word that means any kind of disc with digital video on it. It's just like how some people refer to any lossy audio file as an MP3.

Yeah. People still say they've "taped" something on their DVR (which they call a Tivo, even though it's not), and they need to "rewind" it to go backward.

I thought 2.5 hours was a laborious experience, I'll gladly be skipping the 4 hour version.

I've heard that the 4 hour version will be much more violent and gory as you will see each and every first born son in Egypt being killed.

"already correct"?
ba-hahahahahahaha
NOT
the first hour features blatantly bad film editing... I think Scott's overworking has made him a bit daft in the head.

I still do that from time-to-time, and often refer to albums on CD as "records." Hell, technically speaking, movies shot digitally aren't "films," but pretty much everyone calls them that. I try to call digital pictures "pictures" instead of "photos" though, since they aren't taken with film, but that's just semantics .

Yes, well, when the sequel comes out, no doubt there will be a "director's cut" or "extended cut" or "Weylan Yutani" cut or "The Physical Media Market is Dead" cut or something. Do the deleted scenes make anything in the movie make more sense .
