Why So Blu?

Me set did not come in from Germany today. I hope it didn't get held up in customs. That happened once or twice from the UK but this is from Germany and technically my first order shipped directly from Amazon.DE. I've had German BD's shipped to the house but those were usually done through group buys, so they were already in the U.S. when they were sent out.

Maybe tomorrow.

Well, they stepped up to the plate, albeit grudgingly, and admitted there are problems with the set, are are going to fix those problems. The solution, if imperfect, is at least going to be there, and the admission of fault is admirable.

I am impressed, they've gone up a notch in my book.

That's cool that WB acknowledged the production/missing content error and is fixing it. But, honestly as I mentioned earlier, it's been so long since I've seen Batman as a TV series I probably wouldn't have even remembered or noticed the missing content.

But, not surprised this got some complaints from the more hardcore fans. A premium product like this has to be pretty much perfect, especially with the amount of money they're asking people to cough up.

So what happened to the Season One set that was supposedly coming out as well? Did that get canned?

I completely understand the cost for this thing, and have been waiting for it for years, but I can't spend $150+ on ANY blu-ray set. That's WAY out of my budget. I'd rather get the seasons individually as they come out.

I got my German set on Monday. I've only watched the special features disc, but the picture is fantastic.

I wonder how us cheap-ass exporters can still get a copy of the replacement disc?

HD is really great for this old TV show.

Never knew the actor who played the Joker had a mustache the entire time.

Amazing the details that were never seen before, or I am now seeing it as an adult and not kids eyes.

That mustache has been plainly visible and much joked about ever since the original broadcasts in the 1960s. You don't need high-def to see it. You just probably never picked up on it as a kid.

Requesting the replacement discs was a painless process and supposedly these were getting mailed out in late January. I haven't heard anything from WB since so I was wondering if anyone else has received an update?
