If you haven't seen Double Indemnity yet, shame on you. If you haven't seen Double Indemnity by midnight on April 15th, I will find you, and I will murder you.

these seem to have pretty much the same features as the DVD versions of these films that I have in my collection. Not too excited - those transfers were pretty good as I remember it. I am really pairing down my 'upgrades' of films - even the great ones - if the existing DVD is a SE with good PQ. Just me, tho.

(and yes, I'm terribly guilty of not seeing this but I DO have this on pre-order)

Ho Hum... Have had both already for years in the excellent overseas import Blus. Unless there is a substantial upgrade in PQ, it's an easy pass.
Release some other great noirs rather than double-dipping.

Not exactly double-dipping when they're not already available in your region and you're not region free.

Right. Some people are so self-involved that they can't even view things from any other perspective. In this case, it's even more ridiculous because so few individuals import. I've imported three times since I started buying films in 1999. Until last year, I had a personal policy against it.

Touch of Evil is playing at the TCM Classic Film Festival this year, and they are billing it as the "world premiere" of the new restoration:

It also appears as if the 1998 reconstruction version is the version that got restored.

Excellent news -- looking forward to both of these. The Double Indemnity TV version is actually pretty decent. Glad to see it's being included.
