Does this remastered version really have that much of a better picture ? The bare bones release that I have looks really good. A bit too much DNR, but a LOT better than the Predator mess....

My copy arrived yesterday. Looked and sounded fantastic. The only bit of footage that didn't look good was the closeup of the neck stab at the end. The footage looks zoomed in, given that the film grain suddenly got larger in that one shot.

Nope. I got nothing in my spam and trash. The last promo thing I got was from Arkham Origins.

It's a pretty big jump in picture quality and worth the fairly low price that MGM is charging for the new remaster.

From what I read on that 2007 transfer... Sounds like colors were iffy. Blacks and greys had a murkiness to them. Clarity was kind of soft. Robo's color was still in the blue side, etc. aka it was a work that didn't have love to it.

So yes. Big difference.

I might end up buying the trilogy. I don't love the third but the second is okay.

Good for those who don't have it since its OOP. I just put the remastered disc in my trilogy set, and took the old one out.

Re: Robocop (remastered) - 21/1/14

Just a quick bump since this is coming out in 3 weeks

The remastered copy also dropped to $5 on Amazon (matching WalMart's online price)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Also, the 2014 version has a release date (6/3/14), but I don't think it's worth starting a new thread over since most people didn't seem to care for it. But I do like the cover art

Best Buy has a steelbook

For some reason it seems like the remastered trilogy is hard to find during the first week of release and you have to wait 1-3 weeks at Amazon and you can't order it online at Bestbuy.com unless you do a store pickup with only city within 50 miles having it in stock.

You could just buy it directly from Fox for $13 using code POP:

It also ships free.
