Anyone else think the disc holders are more trouble than they're worth? the layered artwork on each tier is interesting but you can't see the whole picture. the discs can slip out, get scratched if handled improperly. also one magnet has popped out upon initial inspection. i feel like i will watch through the set once and then store it forever, or take the discs out and put them into some other container for easier access

Does this include the Mythbusters bonus disc from the Season 5b set?

That's not remotely surprising and I'm sure one of the main reasons a lot of people (including myself) are holding off. A set this big, clunky and awkward screams potential for scratched discs.

That doesn't take away from it's cool factor, but I'm paying for the content not for the case.

It is not an easy set to handle, that is for sure. But, I am pretty good with my things so my OCD tendencies will be subsided...somewhat that is.

FWIW, Blu-ray discs are pretty hard to scratch. That said, I'll be passing on this set as well. If they haven't released a standard packaged version by the time I want to watch the series again I'll just pick up the individual seasons when they are cheap.

*"ridiculous" for me. If you like this sort of thing, have fun with it!
It does seem like a huge waste of space. I never really bought in to the oversized packaging craze. Give me a nice condensed set with the same content, and that is ideal.

Yeah, I have the space, but I don't like things taking up more space than they should. For example, out on the same day was the Zatoichi box-set which contains 27 discs and a hard-cover 100 page booklet, and it's less than a quarter the size of the BB set.

Actually I found the case holders to be easy to manipulate and handle.

I'm just curious how many here don't really have a problem with the packaging, but it's way too hard to spend $200+tax on something that you may or may not watch anytime soon?

Or better yet, you would rather spend that money on gas or groceries or paying a utility bill?

I'd bet people are holding off more for the price than the packaging. I think a few of us who don't want the packaging are just vocal about it.

The thing is - I think the packaging is cool. I would love to check it out in person if someone I knew owned it. I just don't want it for my own collection.

I'm pretty OCD about the way I handle my movies but I'm not so worried about the scratches. It's that damn price that gets me.

I've never gotten any set of BB but this thing only has the physical bonuses and that documentary right? Maybe something else in features but nothing worth that tag price.

It also has all the retailer exclusives from previous season releases.

That's how I understand. So even if it makes it down to $150 it's too much for me. Gotta figure you could get all the seasons on Blu-ray for about $100 right now. So even at $150 I'd be paying a hefty premium for the documentary.

Since I have the other seasons it just would be a waste of money for me. Budget is tight now and this unfortunately doesn't fit in.

I think the set does look cool though...

I like the packaging even though I personally prefer the ol trusty gatefolded boxes.

Just found what appears to be a standard set on amazon com
its called "Breaking Bad-Complete Sesons 1-5 [Blu-ray]" (sic)

However, no details

So that adds up to what? 2-3 hours of stuff...maybe? You got this, right? What are the dimensions on this?

Yeah. Even at $150 that's pushing it for me still. I MIGHT do $100-$110...with tax in there. But it's way too goddamn high for this Mexican.

What are the dimensions? Probably about a foot tall, maybe six inches in diameter.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

So I opened the box from Amazon, threw in the return print-out, sealed it back up, sent it back... Amazon charged me a whopping 50% restocking fee ($106) anyway. WHAT THE HELL?

That can't be right. 50%? Aren't normal restocking fees somewhere between 5-15%?

Have you called Amazon?

The site doesn't mention any restocking fees for UN-opened DVDs/BDs/games/etc. For opened, it is indeed 50%. But that was not the case here, of course. Which is why I nearly fell out of my chair when I got the e-mail.

So I chatted with them, and it took like 20 minutes but I finally got them to refund the restocking fee as credit to my Amazon account. *SIGH* Close enough, I guess.

They said the restocking fee is because "the return was not a result of [their] error". But I still can't find anything that would indicate a restocking fee (of any amount, much less HALF) for an unopened item returned within the window.

"Other" forums have stated that the Mythbusters special is a bonus feature included in the set. It's supplemental material as part of Season 5B.

I've returned a few items to Amazon through the years and I've never been charged a restocking fee (everything returned was either a BD or a DVD). I've only had to eat return shipping. My guess is that this set due to its weight might be subject to one.
