Here's hoping that it really works out this time.
If they're going to be an exclusive in the complete blu-ray set (all episodes and FWWM) the economics should allow them to remaster and edit the footage to Lynch's satisfaction.

The problem is... doesn't Lynch want to do all of that himself or with his own people?
I'm cautiously optimistic that we finally get that footage, but like the other Josh said, we've heard it all before.

I can't imagine FWWM will be any part of this set - it would be great if it was, but I doubt it.

Warner Bros (who distributes FWWM in the U.S.) has a working a relationship with Paramount. It's not out of the realm of possibilities.

The rumor appears to be that this release will include FWWM.

Shouldn't be too surprising; seems that the studios are more willing to let their films appear in other studios' sets. WHV allowed True Romance to be included in the Tarantino XX boxed set that Lions Gate released last year.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

I have re-watched the entire series every year in October since the VHS days and sadly another year of not watching it on BD. I think I will buy the HDX version from Vudu because I know as soon as I do they will announce the blu-ray set.

I'm happy with my Gold Box DVD of the series but I would like to pick up FWWM on Blu when it's available separately.

If you're not afraid to import, the Japanese Blu-ray release is fairly nice and is Region A friendly. A little expensive, though.

Also, it has no English subtitles during the Pink Room scene.

As much as I enjoyed the show, I was a little burned out on it by the end and never bothered with FWWM. I guess I should give it a try some time.

this bothers me as much as the screwed up volume on the New Line DVD.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

Sorry people of colour, blondes, fellas, the non-attractive (whatever that means), ladies with smaller bosoms, those under 18 or over 27, or anybody with an… um… modern face but David Lynch is looking for a waitress and he’s got a very specific type in mind.

Production is set to take place next Tuesday on a new Twin Peaks promo, directed by Lynch. Here’s the casting call I intercepted:

Hot Caucasian Girl – Brunette or Redheads Only. To play waitress, 18-27. Must have an amazing body, busty, very period looking face.

If you want to submit they want a full body shot as well as a head shot, of course.

Though it’s yet to be confirmed, I’ve heard that the Blu-ray release of Twin Peaks will include the entire series, the prequel movie, a great deal of deleted scenes material – up to 45 minutes have been mentioned, but it’s in the hands of both lawyers and remastering boffins – and it will all hit the street in late March.

Incidentally, if the set lands on March 25th in the US, as I’m expecting, that’s exactly 25 years after Dale Cooper met Laura Palmer in the Black Lodge.

Stay tuned for a lot more. Twin Peaks is just… it’s just… wow. So I’ll be all over news of this release, and the waitress promo while I’m at ait.

This will be one of the few Blu's I'll buy this year if it actually comes out.

If it did come out 25 years to the date, I'll marry Pol Pot.

I wonder what the 45 minutes of deleted scenes in the bleedingcool article are... from the tv series of FWWM?

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

Most likely from FWWM. There was a ton of footage cut from the film.

...and that's the footage I most want to see. Especially some of the actors who got deleted from the final cut.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

I wish Lynch would just assemble the original 4-hour cut of the film, but I understand why he won't. Just give me the deleted footage and I'll be happy.

Is the footage still around to Lynch to do that? FWWM was a midnight movie in a local college town, though I think they were just projecting the DVD. Still, probably would've been a trip.

Yes. The footage has always been available and it's come oh so close to being released many times. The problem has always been that Lynch does not want it released without a proper transfer and color timing. That costs more money than the studios releasing the various discs around the world have been willing to spend. I think there were also some rights complications, but the cost was the big roadblock.

Have the scenes been scored? I used to be a member of Lynch's website that was around over a decade ago and he used to come into the chat room from time to time and I remember him saying that the scenes are all there but New Line or whoever basically wanted him to do all the work for free. He wasn't having that.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

That's always been the sticking point. Lynch didn't want them out there unscored and not color-timed, etc... no one knows if that's changed or if someone finally ponied up the dough for it to be done properly. The Blue Velvet extra scenes were wonderful, so I'm really hoping the FWWM scenes are finally released.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

oh and Mark Frost called this casting call a "strange baseless rumor" on twitter, so I don't think it's legit.
