Wow, you're right - Amazon does as well. I never even thought to check to see if Twin Peaks was one of the free Amazon Prime shows. Thanks for the heads up.

It looks even better on VUDU.

I could be wrong, but I think it debuted on Amazon. Didn't even realize it was available on Netflix, actually. The quality bodes well for a Blu-ray release.

I have the Itunes 1080p version and will still buy the blu ray set - I think they can look even better.

MK2 balked at the cost of this, and they never came to terms. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe the work was ever done.

Later, Lynch convinced MGM to do this for the Blue Velvet deleted scenes, and that footage looks terrific.

Strangely, Lynch was perfectly happy to release the deleted scenes from Wild at Heart in absolutely terrible workprint quality as part of his "Lime Green Set" DVD box. I guess he doesn't care about Wild at Heart as much as he does Twin Peaks or Blue Velvet.
Which is ironic considering he essentially abandoned TP to work on Wild At Heart.

Didn't know about all the low-down on the FWWM deleted scenes. Hopefully he gets the funding needed to finish them off properly. But, again, I'll take them however I can get them because I desperately want to see this footage.

I have Season 1 on VUDU and Season 2 on Amazon On Demand. I agree that VUDU looks the best.

When Bill says "soon" what is the time estimate? 1 Day....1 week...3 months...2 years?

VUDU recently added all of Season 2 as well. $29.99 for HDX.

Yeah, I had already purchased Season 2 on Amazon, so I'll just wait for the Blu-rays at this point.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

I know Bill Hunt said this was "coming soon", but Netflix has the whole series available in SuperHD (1080p). I believe that is comparable to VUDUs HDX for those that don't want to pay the $40 or so for the series digitally.

True, but Netflix can drop titles from streaming at any moment for any reason. VUDU is much less likely to do that, especially if you purchase.

I'll leave it to other Netflix subscribers to comment on the quality of "SuperHD," but I believe its bit rates are much lower than VUDU's.

Yeah, Netflix Super HD doesn't come close to Vudu HDX.

Did the postcards come with every set? What was special about them?

Mine didn't have any. Maybe it was just the first run of prints.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

The post cards came with the first 10,000. The thing is many people had a problem with discs 4 and 6 in the first run so if you decide to buy a sealed copy that has the postcards off of ebay or amazon you may have a problem. For some reason on discs 4 and 6 the menu would load but it would let you choose anything.

The postcards were included in the first editions of the set.

I think that there were something like 60 or 65 postcards, and each set came with ten or twelve. Sort of like packs of trading cards, they were inserted randomly, so people who wanted the whole set were paying out the wazoo for them on eBay.

There was also one postcard that was autographed by David Lynch.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series & Fire Walk With Me

I saw a tweet from someone the other day (might've been a TP fan page) stating that contracts have been signed to include around 45 minutes of deleted footage from FWWM on this set.

I never picked up the Gold Box. All I have is the Artisan Season 1 release and FWWM. Kind of glad I waited now.

Saw the same. It was on the "Bring Twin Peaks Back to TV" facebook page, I think, but the quote originates from Mark Frost. Good news - this is the last best hope for these I think.

I hope that's true, but we've been told similar thing in the past and the deals have always fallen through due to Lynch's stubborness. Up to now, he has refused to release the scenes unless he could fully post-produce, edit and sound design them (much like he eventually did for Blue Velvet), and studios have balked at paying for that.

Here's hoping that it really works out this time.
