Evil Dead (2013) -- 7/16/13
No specs or features yet, but Shock Till You Drop is reporting the studio has locked in the release date already.
I'd assume at the very least we'll see an unrated cut.

This made it out to theaters? I only remember watching the trailer online and then never seeing anything about it again.

Surprised the Blu-ray is being announced this early especially considering the film hasn't even hit theaters yet. Unless the studio expects it to flop or something. That would sort of surprise me though since all of the early reviews make it sound like it's one of the better horror remakes.

Like others, I'm surprised the release date has already been mentioned.
I hope it's good!

I'm not surprised the home video has been announced already. If it follows typical Evil Dead video releases we shouid have at least 6 different versions by Christmas. Xage, are you ready?

Thus far, early word seems to be good. I'll be cautiously optimistic, probably catch it in the theater, then consider if I want to pick up the blu.

Ah, well, so much for all the deleted/alt. scenes and an unrated cut the director kept yammering about. I guess they'll be keeping the ED tradition alive and at least double dipping here.

Regardless of one's fear or lack of it when watching the film. It was gory either way.
Damnit. No Bruce and Sam commentary and unrated cut? Weak offering there. I'll wait for it to go down in price.

I re-watched the original last weekend (I was fortunate to see it at the theater back in 1982)......LOVE the original. That said, I enjoyed the remake and went ahead and pre-ordered.
